Yow! Thanks for all the spirited conversation over CON-VOLUTION!
I think its a sign that we did our jobs that everyone feels the book is worthy of discussion - critical or otherwise. I see it as a way to improve our game. So, good job on the feedback, all. Mightily appreciated, dontchaknow.
Jim!
It’s great to have interaction with the people behind the product… we didn’t have as enjoyable a relationship with the last company to publish a Ghostbusters comic.
I like that Jack Kirby got to kick some more ass… in a round-about, naming no names sort of way.
Thanks, 'busters.
Are you both on the “ongoing series” bandwagon? Is it time for an open-ended GB title?
Jim
I am on the ongoing band wagon, and would love to see you and Keith steering the ship
Did IDW ever tell you about emails that came in?
I’m up for an ongoing title.
An ongoing title would be way…way past sweet.I think something like that might qualify for EPIC WIN.
Sign one more up for the on-going bandwagon!
As to CON-volution: Great job on the characterization. And you made Egon absolutely hysterical. Wonderful job. Art work was also fantastic Did part of me miss some busting action - sure, but not too much. It was still the GBs dealing with ghosts - and not every encounter will involve a proton pack. Overall, I wonderful addition to the comic line.
Definitely.
It was a disappointment when IDW mentioned a while back that there weren’t plans to produce an ongoing series, four-issue miniseries, when done right, can be a really good read, but after a while the series needs to grow.
Out of all the comics IDW has put out (and I include The Other Side and Displaced Aggression along with the one-shots) this is by far my favorite.
The tone, the characters, the dialogue-they were pretty much all exactly what I wanted in a GB comic book.
Mr. Beard, I am definitely on the “ongoing series” bandwagon- especially if you are driving.
I will contact IDW and loudly demand, politely request, and humbly beg for a new ongoing series.
Thank you for a most excellent and thoroughly enjoyable addition to the GB universe. I hope it will not be your last.
Dimitrios, yessir. Much appreciation.
GhstbstrLMLIII, hey, Mama Spengler’s little boy’s m’favorit
joegianco, wow, cool and thanks! And its “Jim,” m’man. We’re all buds here
Jim!
Good idea. Best way to get more GB comics is to ask for 'em.
They need to have like 3 or 4 creative teams working together on an ongoing so then we can have a mix of works in a streamlined continuity I think. I’ve already emailed IDW
grundel, great minds think alike.
Jim!
Great work, Jim. Hopefully we can get some kind of ongoing off the ground…
It worked for getting Dapper Dan and James Eatock on the books, I’m sure if fans speak up then some good will come of it!
I’d honestly be up for another on going, not that I don’t like the one shots cause I enjoy reading them over and over. But it’d still be awsome to have another series come out again
FYI:
CON-VOLUTION is now sold out at IDW!
Any copies still out there are whatever distributors and comic shops have. Thanks to everyone for making the book a success!
Jim!
While I am a big fan of the story telling, charictarization, and over all…GBness of the comic, not to mention the nod towards the Gbfans themselves and their ■■■■ prop building, something just didn’t sell me on the art, and I feel this is something all GB comics to date have been lacking in. Don’t get me wrong, the artists themselves are great, their art is obviously better than my own as they are the ones doing the comics, not me. However most of these comics have yet to actually clasp the comedic, rugged, scientific feel that runs with Ghostbusters. I’d like a solid ongoing sereis, but would be interested in yet another artistic take on the franchise. I’ll buy whatever comes my way regardless, sometimes just for the cover art.
I don’t want to say its the bold almost cartoon look to the comic as I am super excited for what we’re getting from Dapper Dan. However, sometimes I’m just craving something a little more edgy, Tristan-ish if you will.
Just so that this whole post doesn’t sound picky, please know I do own and enjoy Convolution.
that’s great news! And I agree with you on every note Dr. Ray Stantz. Very well put!
