Convince me to switch PS3 to Xbox 360

ok, how bout this. what the hell is so good about ps3 ? i played on both systems, i cant tell the difference at all. :sigh:

The discussion is not so much about the systems themselves but their network services. PSN vs Xbox Live

The OP opened the thread by saying he “can’t stand” PSN but wants to know if there are any “special stuff that the PS3 [version] comes with” to help him justify purchasing the PS3 version of the GB game as opposed to purchasing the 360 version.

With your sarcastic comment you are taking a very specific topic and broadening it to a “which console is better” debate. Basically what I was trying to say is that (in regards to the network service PSN vs XBL) it’s really about preference. Some people have no problems with PSN connectivity and latency and they love that PSN is free… Others have no problem paying for XBL because you get some features that you don’t get with PSN. It’s really not something that you can say one is better than the other. It’s all personal preference… And being that the OP started the thread with “i can’t stand PSN”… the logical conclusion would be that there is probably not going to be any exclusive stuff that’s going to be worth him using PSN.

Like i said before… if content and multiplayer are both important to you but you don’t like PSN… get both versions of the game. If you can’t afford both… go with the console you will be playing w/ friends more often on. It’s your decision to make, man. Nobody should have to convince you of anything… we’re not sony reps.

This is exactly the sort of comment I was hoping to avoid.

I guess this was missed…

Well, I just got done having it switched back to 360. In my opinion, PS3 is a better console, just doesn’t the network and the games to topple 360. In this case, probably better to have GB on 360.

I’m just glad it isn’t exclusive to any one console and (despite being a PS3 owner) I hate that Sony put the kibosh on the other (non-Sony) versions in the UK. I’m very much glad for my UK ghosthead brethren that the XB360 version isn’t region-locked!

In regards to XBL pricing, I’d say keep your eyes peeled. Recently, for reasons not explained to me, my local Sears had XBL 12 month+1 cards on sale for $20, USD. I wasn’t about to ask why. I bought 65 months worth of XBL for the cost of what 26 would usually cost.

I told my friend about the deal and he informed me that they had done it before as he had done the same thing. I told him he was a jerk for not telling me before. =P

I need to get to my local sears then. But mine doesn’t carry video games anymore except around xmas. And then its only a handful of games, not the whole set up. Mine hasn’t had the full setup for about 10 years.

Amazon has specials like that on 12-month XBL cards as well. You should definitely keep an eye on them.

I dont know why people are going nuts about the PS3/360 version, neither is as good as the PC Version. The Devs themselves said the PC Version has the best graphics you can get.

Probably because the average person doesn’t have to upgrade a PS3/360 to play the game. Just a guess though… nothing factual.

playing ghostbusters **with a keyboard **doesnt seem as fun as a controller i imagine and most people dont have the tech in their computers to run high end games

unless you have a computer specifically put together for gaming, i suggest getting the console version

as an owner of a ps3 and a 360 with a plethora of games on both systems, i can honestly say that i enjoy my online experience on the 360 a LOT better.

if people would like me to tell them why in detail just feel free to PM me and ill give you my 2 cents, no debates though please.

but overall:

the ps3 has free online gaming but i feel that you get what you pay for.

having a best friend who works at a gamestop has helped me pick and choose in the “ps3 vs 360” war for most major games released on multiplatforms.

(and he helped me get the free shirt and is holding an extra preorder gb2 jumpsuit card so i can buy the game @ sams club instead)

BUT if a game is being released on multiplatforms and has an online aspect to it, believe me i buy the 360 version.

i’m no xbox fan boy but from an honest opinion from a LONG time online gamer,

i’d rather be trapping ghosts online with microsoft than sony.

I have a Gaming PC and a 360, PS3 (and wii) and my PC is better and I dont care much about online ■■■■. Though I would agree if you are into Onling Gaming 360 versions are usually the best bet, Sony’s system is ■■■■ compared to live. The only problem is I have a very bad feeling the PS3 version is going to get Exclusive DLC. Thats the reason im holding out on getting a console version.

Besides, chances are the PC Game will get mods, good enough reason to play that and wait to find out which console is getting DLC.

i started with a 360 and switched to the ps3 because of better graphics and the blu-ray player. However i do hate PSN for gaming. xbox live totally rocks when it comes down to that. i suggest getting both systems.

So says you. I have this, so it will be just fine for me.

Well, since the pc version got raped and dumped in a back alley multiplayer-less, I can see people preferring the next gen console versions now…

Why not just use an corded 360 controller?

What? Seriously? Can counselor site precedence?

I’m getting the PS3 (and later Wii & DS) version, but that really sucks for PC gamers.

Its not ‘dumbed down’… 99.9% of games made for cross-console support is originally made for the xbox. Graphics wise the ps3 has better antialiasing.. but the 360 has always had better lighting, which anyone whos played COD4 knows can really make or break a game.

ps3 is def has more muscle, the only prob is most developers (mostly 3rd party) have such a hard time programming it. The 360 is a lot more user friendly, so its just a LOT easier to program the game for the 360, and port it over to the ps3.

In this case, it was probably made for the PC first, but PC and xbox programming arent too far apart. PS3 is a long shot from easy, and the wii is damn near impossible to program for 3rd party support.

Actually, fairly early on it was mentioned that it was being programmed on the PS3 first and then shuffled over to the others. It surprises me that people are saying the xbox 360 graphics are “better” when they started specifically on the PS3.

This whole “this component of the game is better on x system” ■■■■ really grinds my gears. quite frankly im sick of hearing it.

Heres my advice on choosing between the two systems:

Look at the features of both and see which feature set is more appealing/usefull to you.

weigh the pros and cons of each system.

ask yourself, which system offers me the the titles that i would like to play the most.

dont base your purchse on other peoples oppinions , after all its you who will be using the thing.
