i dont know if this a topic or not am new to the site and been a fan since i was 3 and loved the new game 940/1000gamerscore(would be more but lost 360 to red ring of death)
and was wondering how much it would cost to build a pack from the plans on the site and or how much to have some one bulid it for me?

I’ll be nice before someone comes in and flames you. Your questions is a bit vague, even if it doesn’t seem like it. Its like asking how much does a car cost? With cars, there are many different brands some with more features than others. Cars can range from $2,000 to $80,000+. Same holds true for proton packs. There are people who build them from dollar store parts and there are packs with lights and sounds that can range from $1,500 to $3,000 and up. Your best bet is to set a budget for yourself and go from there. Check the for sale section to see what parts are available for sale and how much they cost . www.multimediamayhem.net has a lot of the actual parts for the pack, but like I said what does your budget permit?

as posted earlier, cost varies. the cheapest is a pure DIY pack… looking at plans, buying and cutting/shaping the material…
most expensive is usually buying a fully completed pack. My old pack sold for about $1500 which had lights and sound, though I think the most expensive I’ve seen one go for is $4000.
Just as a heads up, this isn’t an inexpensive hobby 
I’d say the bare minimum you can get away with for a pack and uniform is about $150-$180. If you build properly, you can also upgrade as you go along.
The sky is the limit for the higher end, running up to probably $2000 just for a pack.

And be warned, even if you set a budget at around say $200, you could end up losing your self control very quickly. Not that I’d know anything about that.
Very true. I’ve found myself in the Home Depot deciding to buy different pipes, wires, and more just because it looked better/more screen accurate. I’ve also went through three different sets of washers until I finally decided on some.
Yep.. trick is to save your recipts! You’ll reduce trips by over buying a number of things that look like they might work, and if not, just return them.
You make a LOT of trips to all hardware stores in building packs and guns.
when i was a kid i used to steal stuff like washers and screws from best buy. but then, when i got older, and got a job that i can make my packs at for free, i just stole from them. want to tell me there’s not enough money to give me a raise, but hire a useless person at 65,000 a year? ok. thanks for the free wood. you want to make me clean the toilets, and not the guy who threw up all over them? ok. thanks for the six gallons of bondo i used. want to make me go into the attic to hunt down a dead rat? ok. thanks for letting me sneak working on my project when im supposed to be working. want to lay me off? ok. thanks for letting me take every tool and bit of scrap, and anything else i could get my hands on.
it was a good job, only because of what i stole from it.
as for my packs, i dont think i ever spent more than 100 bucks on them. even when i was working on them with out stealing things. its amazing what 24 hours and no money can whip up, which was pack number 2.
I think the general answer to this oft-asked question should be “If you don’t have a steady source of disposable income, don’t even think about it…”
Up until the economy went south these things sold for well north of $1000 on ebay (and occasionally still do) so that should be an indication of the cost involved in both money and time…
It really depends on how accurate, and how much you want to spend. I’ve seen decent looking packs for $100, and killer packs for much MUCH more.
There is one on ebay that does everything except really capture ghosts, and it was $2500 last time I looked at it.
