that’s hard to answer, do you want to do a dollar store job, make it out of card board, or foam board, or buy cast parts?
the sky’s the limit. mine cost around 30 bucks i’d figure since most the materials were lying around.
the standard in propbuilding…
you can choose 2 of those statements.
1- I want it “cheap”
2- I want it “quick”
3- I want it “perfect”
Think about what is it you want.
Will it be screen accurate or custom?
will it be sturdy or cheaply made?
will you invest in your prop, or do you want something “that makes the job”?
do you want it for halloween 2008 or halloween 2009?
do you want a static prop, or a “functionnal” (light/sound) pack?
if you want a 99% screen accurate functionnal pack before this halloween, it will cost a lot.
if you want a 50$ or less pack before Halloween, it won’t be screen accurate.
its a matter of choices.
I hope you find this info useful.
Mars has got it pretty much down pat.
Our pack is a budget pack but still at that we are looking at around $100-150 per pack. They will not be 100% screen accurate but fairly close in appearance. Ours will have lights but no sounds.
It is fairly sturdy but we could have gone cheaper but less sturdy if we used all foam on the parts instead of plastic boxes and wood.
Welcome aboard
