So I’m at the point in my second build where I’m in need of a light kit. I’m completely illiterate in wiring and electronics, so assembling myself is not happening. I used Exorays awesome kit last build, but he doesn’t respond to my PM’s, and all of his threads are locked. I was on the list, but missed out on R2DEVO’s newest run. I’ve throughly checked the for sale threads, RPF, and Google. Nothing. Now I’m kinda stuck.
What other options are out there?

A few people have purchased a light kit from Jupiter electronics off eBay. They do a pack kit and thrower kit and a combined kit. I was going to order a thrower kit off him as I want to update my lights in my thrower.
I’m waiting for a Jupiter thrower kit to arrive. They revised their thrower kit with more lights and patterns for the bar. Once I get it I’ll get up some photos and such.
Thanks for the info guys. The one thing I’m really not sure of based on their info, is whether or not the 2 kits connect, or do you have to turn the back and thrower lights on individually.
100% agreed. His set has spoiled me on light kits. It was perfect.

Tell me about it, I’m spending hundreds on thrower and pack parts and I have to paint and assemble the thing on my own! Ripoff!
Seriously though, usually there’s going to be at least some assembly required in a light or sound kit. Usually the kits are set up so that any connections you do have to make are not rocket surgery. I can understand not being electronically inclined, but you’ll probably have more luck getting a kit and then asking the community for help than you will looking around for a kit that installs itself.

If it’s not rocket surgery, then explain it to me. Show me how to do it. I’m an asshole for not wanting to have to lean how to wire electronics for something I’m already paying $150 for, but you’re not exactly the expert either.

Sure, because if there’s one thing people tend to enjoy, it’s teaching someone who openly admits to not wanting to learn.
Forgive me for making a joke earlier. If you really expect help, copping an attitude probably won’t get you far. More useful would be-- I don’t know-- how about some pics or drawings of the setup? Or should someone else do the work to find a reference picture for the kit on top of showing you how to use it? Have you even decided for sure on the Jupiter kits, or are we just supposed to supply instructions for every possible kit out there and then you can use the one you like best?

Haha, thats great. Yeah, you’re right, I don’t want to learn how to wire this set I’m going to have to pay $150 for, but everyone is telling me to stop bitching, ask the community for help, and learn it. So teach me.

Just cut your wires that go to the 9v battery on your pack lights and wire those up to the switch that turns on your gun lights if you want all your lights to come on with the one switch.
I think I can help you out. When you are connecting a wire to a terminal on a chip you want to first “tin” the wire you are connecting. To “tin” the wire you simply heat it with your sodering iron and then touch the soder to the wire. It should only take a second if that to get it hot enough. You should notice it pull almost right onto the wire. After that heat what ever spot it needs to be attached with light 1/2 second taps a couple times while touching the wire to the same spot. Same thing the soder on the wire should pull a little to that spot.
If you notice the wire may come loose it can’t hurt to add a small and I mean small amount to that connection. To do this heat that spot a little then touch the soder and sodering iron to that spot. You want to use a 60/40 rosin soder. You can get this at radio shack. I would recomend looking at the switchs and push buttons also for an idea on what you want. I would shop online for those switchs. Frys.com has pretty good deals on switchs. Also a small place I found futurelec.com is a good site.
As far as switchs go it really depends on what you want connected to what battery. Each battery and light kit will need its own switch. If you want sound you will need DPDT switchs. Dual Pole Dual Throw… meaning two power souces and circuits on one switch.
Most switchs power goes to the middle leg and out to your light kit or whatever from the other legs. You only connect it to one as that you want one to be on and the other off.
If you want pratice with sodering it can’t hurt to bust open anything you have that has a circiut board in it. Find a spot that has a wire sodered to it and pratice taking it off that spot and then re-attaching it. Be careful and make sure you don’t have power connected to anything when trying this.
