my guess is…yes. Not because it has been what we have seen already but if I take the formula that the force unleashed used…the demo will be the first level you play as the main character. For the purposes of Ghostbusters, that would be the hotel. But I could be totally wrong. We may even get the library level we saw in the comic con videos from last year
I’ll admit. I’m still looking forward to one - just to get my hands on some part of the game as soon as possible. I know a lot of people here have played some- at a con, focus testing, or otherwise - but I’m not one of the lucky ones. So, I’m going to download it as soon as I find out it’s up.
That’s very true! It seems like only yesterday we received the news that the game may not even be published, and here we are… just a little over a month away from release. I’m sure these next few weeks will pass quickly, but you know… that demo sure as hell would give us a great distraction to help pass the time even more quickly.
The only bad thing is most of us will play that demo so much that by the time we get the game we can do the Slimer level with our eyes closed. LOL
Edit: I just realized I didn’t even answer the OP’s question. I was hoping that the demo they release was going to be the Library level as that level has always been a personal favorite from watching all the videos, but it makes sense that they would release the Sedgewick level. Most (not all) devs release the tutorial level as a demo so it’s not surprising they would want to do the same here. It would be cool if they give us a one-map multiplayer demo like they did with Bionic Commando. That would definitely keep us busy while we wait.
I was told by Atari that, the Demo would be of, the architectural building level (were we fight Mr. Stay Puft), but that was just after the NYCC, so it could have changed.
It would be cool if they did with ghostbusters what they did with the game civilization revolution. We got a regular game demo to play and a multiplayer map demo to play. I can’t wait until 6/16/09!
I’m stoked, either way. On a side note, I keep hearing websites say, “emmersive gameplay with character models.” I actually LOVE that they’re doing MOVIES! I remember in games like JEDI KNIGHT, you’d beat a level, then be treated to an awesome live action cutscene! Those were sweet! IT was like a reward for kicking ass!
KUDOS TO YOU, TR, for bringing back something awesome, and perfectly fitting for a movie game!
Does anyone else agree that waiting for this game kinda feels like being a kid waiting for Christmas (or whatever gift-giving holiday you celebrate)? Hell, maybe I’ll get the game on the midnight release, gift wrap it, go to bed, wake up in the morning and unwrap it, pop open a miller and start bustin’…okay, the gift wrapping might be a bit overboard.
Absolutely! It reminds me of when I was a kid… My sister & I had a big box under the tree and we snuck out during the night and tore the wrapping paper under the bow (so we could easily hide the fact that we ripped the paper) to take a peek at what it was. We were getting a brand new SNES system for xmas. Knowing that we were getting it didn’t lessen the excitement… in fact I would say that it increased the excitement.
Waiting for the GB game is quite similar. I know it’s coming and It’s getting closer and the excitement is building. I’m hoping that the local gamestop is doing a midnight release so I can play it at midnight. It’ll be like being allowed to open a gift early. lol
I really need this demo and i expect it to be the Slimer level, which is actually bitter sweet to me. While it looks to be a great level to demo, and is the obvious choice, I kind of want that to be what I do in the game for the first time. I just know that as soon as i play the demo it will make the wait for the game seem even longer.
31 days to go, one whole month, and it seems like a year. Just thinking about it makes me go nuts. I actually had a dream about playing the game. Usually when people say that I laugh because it seems so ridiculous, but damn if it didn’t happen to me.
