I’ve learked around this site for a while. I have made some purchases from the shop and a few of the members. I guess it is time to post my progress pictures.
I made most of the parts out of 1/2" and 1/4" MDF board.
Here is the start of the project. I used stefan’s plans. I am not going for fully screen accurate. Just something to have some fun with.
I broke the spacer into sections. Then glued them together and sanded them down with a bench sander.
I would do this differently next time. I cut the top 3 pieces at the same time with my jig saw. The bottom pieces I had to cut separately. When they were all glued together they were not as precise as I had hoped. But nothing some sanding and some bondo couldn’t fix.
I’m not very good at taking progress pictures. Here are the next steps along the way. All built from MDF.
Then I cut out the cyclotron with my router, glued it together, added bondo and sanded smooth.
All the detains and ribs were done with 1/8" styrene. I used gorilla glue to attach it to the MDF. All the resign parts are from Nick-a-tron. He makes some great parts.
This is where it currently sits. I am still waiting on resin parts from JoeLuna33. Once those are received I should be able to get the ball rolling again.
I was going to scratch build the gun but decided to just buy it. I have a Throwingchicken 3.0 gun kit.
I also purchased the Mighty controller kit. I received the kit and it looks fantastic. I can’t wait to get it installed.
Well that’s it so far. I’ll post more pictures as I make some progress.
Well I got the MIGHTY hooked up to test. This thing is AWESOME. Fairly easy to set up for someone that has any knowledge of electronics. I could not be happier with it. The girlfriend is getting annoyed because I wont stop playing with it.

I am waiting on my PPD from JoeLuna. After it is received I’ll cut out the EDA to the correct size, fasten it to the pack and then magic sculpt around the seam. That is the plan anyway.
Looks fantastic! I’m always impressed by non-shell builds of this quality. Agreed about the weight, that factor has prevented me from attempting an MDF build.
I got most of the thrower assembled and tested the MIGHTY in it. I love this thing. Hope to have the pack finished up this weekend. Still waiting on a few parts from members and the shop here. I’m going to try and shave it down a bit to take some weight out. It’s probably over 50 lbs with everything in it!
I’ve been working on the pack on and off. Here is how it sits today. Still has some work to be done.
I am having an issue. Can anyone tell me if I have the gun mount bracket installed correctly? It is near impossible to take the thrower off of the pack while wearing it the way I have it.
