I’d love to see this infront of the kenner firehouse. Maybe a paintjob on the firehouse to be more movie accurate. Not sure if anyones ever done that.

I’ve got a firehouse project in the works. And since we are on the topic of the firehouse, the only draw back to this beauty of an Ectomobile Spengler created is that it will never fit through the front door of the toy. Now that doesn’t detract from the beauty of this car in any way, you just wouldn’t be able to do a roll out, if you play with your toys that is.

Some modification to the door region of the Kenner Firehouse should fix that.

Good question, On some ecto pix i saw the fins was chromed only at the rear of the fins… but other they have the chrome line at the top… but definitely i think i should paint all the strip… good point thx dude

The tailfins are chromed all along the outside edge. You can see this at http://www.theecto1.com. Aside from that, the only thing I can point out is that the driver’s side spotlight should be blue, rather than white.

Regardless of that, the final product is amazing, and I most certainly look forward to seeing the Ecto-1A project once it begins.

On the subject of the Ectos, I may wish to discuss utilising them for a project of mine Spengler… I’ll drop you a private message.

Spengler28: Your Kenner Ecto 1 to Ecto 1 modification turned out great. Any chance you could write a “how to”/tutorial about it? If not, perhaps you could do that for the Kenner Ecto 1A build since the toy cars were the same out of the box.
