Elite Proton Pack Plans

So, I guess the rear grip wasn’t as close to the end of the rear handle as we thought…?

It doesn’t really matter. They are there to allow the tube to slide in and out, so you want something that will hold everything in line.

Awesome plans. Well done and thanks

Wow this came out great ! Good work T.J. I would suggest an assembly drawing or two to show how all the parts are suppose to go together.

In the works.

Oh, ok.

I’m still fuzzy on exactly what part that is so I’ll wait for the assembly plans I guess.

The barrel spacer is what the acrylic tube is mounted to inside the front barrel.

A few numbers don’t compute.

How can the front handle base have a 1.062 ID if a slightly thinned out 1.125" OD tube needs to fit inside it?

From what I see the order goes 1.250" over a 1.125" over a 1". The 1" tube, with a wall thickness of 0.065" has an inside diameter of 0.870" which holds the 0.867" acrylic tube perfectly.

Do I have something gone terribly wrong?

That’s all nominal. you have to take out the tolerance yourself depending on your material.

more like paranominal…

These plans aren’t meant for the faint of heart.

I’m beginning to dig the screw through the gun ear into the grip. It’s one of those little details that, for some reason, I really like.

Anyone know what the accurate size is for that screw?

I have it as a 6-32, but burkit may not have corrected me.

Thanks for doing these!!! I am just starting my scaled gun build… Perfect timing that I saw this post!

Awesome plans!

However.. I’ve noticed there’s no measure for length in the trigger ear diagram

Unless I’m going insane.

i ran into that problem last night because i was trying to make sense of the handle/barrel/handle base i figured, that ear was .3125 on center, from where it meets the pipe.

also, an assembly drawing showing cut away views where everything sits would be very helpful. “nominal measurements” dont help for things like how far the barrel extends from the handle. even if it’s accurate, measurements within the “nominal” ones would help immensely to give something to choose from.

wm6929 and i were looking for aluminum pipe to work with these plans, but could not find any that would be the barrel(if memory serves it was the barrel). is that another nominal measurement? what would be an acceptable alternative , if the pipe od/id doesnt work?

The numbers I’m going with seem to work.

“outer handle tube: 1.250” x 0.058" (with a 1.134 ID)

This fits over the barrel sleeve which is…1.125" x 0.049" (with a 1.027" ID)

Which fits over the sliding tube that holds the clear barrel: 1.000" x 0.065" (with a 0.870" ID)

And this 1" tube holds the clear tube which from what I have here should be 0.867" OD fitting just perfectly. Each tube fits inside the next from the 1.250 to the clear tube."

I also don’t believe the ear is hollow.. You can’t counter sink the grip screw and tighten it in a hallow box.

I’ll have assembly drawing in the next few weeks as time allows. And if you look at the reference photos, the box has to be hollow. The wall thickness is a total shot in the dark, and is there to demonstrate that the thing isn’t a solid block.

just had a question on the rear handle. says length is 8.75. im kinda confused cuz i cut some pvc with those dimensions in mind and when i put it into the gunbox, it seemed a lil too short. should my handle be longer, like closer to 9 or 10 inches?
