Filler Tube Question...

So, what’s the best way to generally make these? I’ve looked around some but haven’t seen any definitive answer. I’ve spent a ton of money on my pack already, so I’m going to try and avoid having to buy them, so what are my options?

1" Schedule 40 PVC pipe. I personally also glue a 1" dowel inside the pvc and use filler on the one end to smooth it over. That way you have something to screw into to fit it onto your pack.

Thanks, what do people typically use as a filler aside from resin?

I use plumber epoxy putty as filler usually for small stuff.

So I’d glue a wood dowel into the pvc, then cover over the one end with the epoxy putty, let it dry then sand it smooth.

Ah, great, thanks!

Filler works great, but I have used black pipe plugs that you can get in all kinds of sizes at hardware stores. I use the dowel method to give something to screw into the pack and then plug the end with one of the caps. You can glue it in place for a better hold (recommended).

Cheers

For my filler tube I used a 1’’ PVC pipe to and I filled with a wooden cylinder (srry i didn find the good word for translate this but youll see what i mean on my pictures) :). The plates are square plexiglass 1 / 8 thick. Glued with crazy glue. SOme bondo on the cap for a nice finish, bingo.

So the pic above with the filler tubes has the plugs installed? I like the idea for the base.

Normally you could use a stick of 1 inch to fill the 1 inch tube but the stick of 1 inch is too loose in the pipe. I took a stick 1 1 / 8 inch. I sand with my sander until it tight in the pipe with glue. I created 2 cap instead of putting a stick of full length, it is lighter. When I received my fitting Clippard I drilled the hole in the right format.

Very important to sand the pipe and plexiglass with sandpaper (I took 220). The primer will stick more easily to the tube and plate.

P.S. srry i tried to translate it in the best english i can lol, poor frenchy i am!

As a poor frenchy too, I understand your post just fine. By the way, it’s called a wood dowel.

Oh and those filler tubes look great.

Solution 2 : be rich and get every pieces in aluminium like FIlandrius!!

I always wonder how much he’s got invested in his pack, lol.

My ears are tingling.

Probably almost as much as me

Yep, the guys from the foreclosure agency told me they were going to see you next.

lol

I blame myself

You should. You and Jason should feel very guilty right now.

Bingo indeed. I’m totally stealing that idea when I do my pack.

You can do same for the Injector tubes, same 1" (ok its not 100% accurate but the closest for a PVC tube) same 1/8 thick plexi plate, some hot glue for simulated the weld and thats it, and as seen on my fist picture the PPD to.
