The Spirit Radio is a nice affordable version of the MT500 radio, but I want more than just the single movie quote it plays, and it needs a proper Motorola label!

I will probably also be offering some of these already installed in a new Spirit Halloween Walkie Talkie, so it would be ready to go out of the box.

This kit includes the sound board and a replacement front panel label. The Sound board will use the same batteries as the original radio, just the internal circuitboard needs to be replaced. Soldering is required, but this is a fairly simple installation.

I am also working on my leather skills, so will probably offer a thick black real-leather holster to replace the thin holster with the no-ghost logo on it that comes with the Spirit Radio.

Spirit Radio Sound Board and Front Panel Label $39

Converted Spirit Radio (installed and tested sound board and Label) $79

Interested too

Count me in…

Did I hear correctly that you will be getting out of the prop world? I hope it’s not true! There’s much more left for me to buy from you, hah!

I’m interested as well.

It would be my first soldering job but you have to start somewhere. Could be fun

Awesome to hear, So do we pay now for the installed ones or will you make it known when they are ready to go out in the mail and we pay then?

I am highly interested in a moded Radio, with the Holster the Spirit already comes with and maybe a leather Holster in the future, I maybe interested in buying 2.

interested in buying the Spirit Radio Sound Board and Front Panel Label kit from you. I have a spirit radio that I removed the sound board from to add to a bluetooth modified MT500 as a secondary mod, so this will let me bring the spirit radio back to life to use after I paint it to look more like the grey tone color and texture that the MT 500 radios have.

Spirit Walkie Talkie Sound modules and Modded Spirit Walkie Talkies are in stock and ready to ship!

Replied to your PM… Payment sent!

Got mine installed and running today. Decided to do TVG and movie radio traffic only so I soldered the J4 pads closed

Doug,

I’d be interested in a soundboard with label if you have any available.

Is there a video of this in action?

EDIT: Spongeface posted a video for the spirit radio sound board.

Just added a full sound module install video:

Hi there! It appears I need to visit this forum more often. I will like to order your sound upgrade kit. Let me know how you how I can send you payment. ~ Thank you!

Thanks for this mod. Just installed it with help from your video. Very quick and easy to do even though I don’t have a whole lot of soldering experience.

Makes this radio so much better.

Just installed this tonight. Straightforward approach and install. Quite a lot easier than the real MT-500.

Here is a quick review I did of this product with a comparison to spongeface’s old MT500 sound kit.

Edit: Just realized that if the jumpers are left alone, then it plays all sounds (in sequence of appearance)

from both movies and then the video game. Then loops. My bad.
