I didn’t see anyone else doing something like this so I figured I’d post my own work. I went through the the entire GB1 movie and put together a spreadsheet of annotations for noteworthy scenes and their corresponding time instant in the movie. This is not a conclusive list, by any stretch. I put it together primarily in search for details about lighting and electronics but there are certainly other random pieces of information indicated as well. Hopefully someone other than me will find it useful. If anyone has additions or corrections, post it. I’ll update the sheet or find a way to get it here on GBfans.
Looks pretty good Mike, although certainly lacking. Maybe you could look at how Jess Nevins does his annotations (mainly comic books, but provides back history for certain panels and quotations) to make it a bit more comprehensive.
Thanks for the feedback. I absolutely agree this list is extremely light and think it would be worthwhile to organically grow it with feedback from the community. There’s plenty of opportunity for growth as I’ve focused mainly on tagging time spots in the movie with good closeups of the props and their actual electronic function.
Just looking at a couple of Nevins’ annotations it looks like he relies on community feedback and then aggregates the input himself. I haven’t searched for anything yet but am wondering if there’s a webapp out there that provides functionality for community-driven annotations a la wikipedia. A spreadsheet is hardly conducive to collaboration or growth so it would be nice to find something else.
