GB2 Realistic Sound Level Meter

I found this to be true when getting elbow pads, ended up getting defenders for $5.00

Are there any other pics of that meter holster? Do you guys reckon it’s kit bashed or something they got “off the rack”?

The pouch used for the sound level meter was not the original one that came with the device. It’s really anybody’s guess as to what it was originally used for; it could have been for designed for holding a small camera, water bottle, or similarly sized item.

Either way, it wouldn’t be too hard to sew one together.

I’ll admit that I’m not a big fan of the nylon pouch look. I was looking at some Radio Holsters and found this one:

(Which looks like the Video Game Lifegard Holster, imo… Been there, discussed that…) But I like that it is leather and fits in with the Belt Gizmo Holster, but is different enough from the regular Radio Holster so it won’t look like it’s just a recycled piece. I’m gonna buy one to put my Realistic Sound Level Meter in…

(I didn’t even wanna have one of these until this thread… Thanks, Joe Luna! Geez! :stuck_out_tongue: )

So I bought one of these things, just to have something extra to throw on my GB2 belt (I only put my trap on my GB1 belt… GB2 belt was kinda naked, plus I dig the obscure ones…) and I have to say it is too cool! I haven’t had this much fun with a GB Prop since my Matty Trap arrived! Come to find out that this one is actually used as a Ghost Hunting device.

I wonder if any of the other random props/ meters are used for actual Ghost Hunting/ Detection? Anyone have any information on this?

in that nylon pouch, is there velcro to hold the flap down, also what is that skinny loop? I can’t make out where it joins

The nylon pouch has a thin elastic band that secures the Sound Level Meter in place. However, the band has been broken off on one end in recent years. As for the flap, there doesn’t seem to be any velcro…

After trolling ebay, I bought one of these, links similar. Will be interesting to see how it fits

And the back:

This is the holster I posted the link to above.

Seems like a perfect fit!

I like that! I may have to grab one. Now if I could just find a cool holster for my radiacmeter I’d be set with the obscure GB belt gear

radiac meter didn’t have one. You need to use a clip from a tape measure and screw it into the back

I’m not so worried about being screen accurate with that. It’s more about having a cool utility belt like Batman. My pack is where I care about accuracy.

I was in an audio class and the professor pulled one of those bad boys out (it was a more modern, digital version) but I still gasped with delight. It’s a pretty cool devise.

Could the Radiac Meter not fit into a tape measure holder?

It could but it’s quite a bit smaller than you’d think. I really like the bands holding your sound meter in and think a holder like that would be cool for the radiacmeter.

Am I overlooking the link to the leather holster? I see a pic, but not a link.

There’s a link to the non-leather holster, but I was wanting to compare.

Alex

Will the meter fit in fat side down? so the screen is showing?

cheers

Here you go, Alex.

Skeg, it fits, but it doesn’t go down all the way, so it sticks up awkwardly.

I just got my sound level meter yesterday (with the accurate “Realistic” label). I might try making the nylon pouch at some point, but the carrying case that it came with fits nicely on my GB2 belt.

Here’s a photo I took this morning:
