I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find a replacement for the miniature red push button (the one on the wand tip) that comes with the GBFans Wand Light kit. I sadly managed to break mine while trying to install it and have been looking for a proper replacement to solider back into the kit.
I know it needs to be a:
Red Push Button Switch off Momentary (on) Single Pole Single Throw Round Plunger 0.5 Amp 125 Volt AC 12 Volt Contact Solder Lug Panel Mount
But every place I’ve searched for these kinds of push buttons (including the link posted above), they are either long out of stock or they are the opposite Switch on Momentary (off) type. Not to mention the GBFans kit came with push buttons that are a gorgeously accurate dark red! I’ve only ever seen buttons with bright red plastic or the newer type with the metal plungers.
I was hoping someone might be able to clue me in to where I could find a proper replacement- Preferably in that same amazing dark red, but I’m not going to be too picky seeing how rare these old-style push buttons seem to be getting.
Most online retailers and electronic hobbyists should carry the switch, it just depends on if you prefer buying it in person or waiting for it to arrive in the post.
I’ve been to most of the retailers in my area and they either have the momentary off (opposite) or the metal type. I’d love to find an online retailer! No problem with waiting for it in the mail.
I was able to find one at a store that will work if I install it… but it isn’t screen-accurate
I was just wondering if anyone had already found the exact same kind with the dark red colored plastic. Or even if the folks who make the kit for GBFans have shared where they got the ones they installed in the kits… Though that’s probably a guarded trade secret? I wasn’t able to come up with anything in my forum searches.
