I found this little gem the other day when I was searching around on the interwebs and it certainly had my attention by the end of the script outline. I really hope this gets to the attention of the dev team for the third film. Thought the community would enjoy it!!

I respect every fan’s attempt at a third movie, or fiction in general.
However this particular one does not gel with me (apologies as I know how hard it is coming up with this stuff).
I don’t like the idea of the family business with all the team being offspring. Perhaps one would be OK, but not the whole team.
I feel a general reference or ‘throwback’ to the extreme team and even rookie would be good. Similar to Venkman’s VG line “You remember what happened to the last guy!”.
I know it’s hard to shake off a ‘back in the saddle’ feel from EGB, but that’s not necessarily bad as I quite enjoyed those episodes.
The whole point of a third Ghostbusters film for me is to see the original actors reprise their roles. To be reintroduced to those characters and to be engaged in a story which focuses on them for an hour and fourty odd minutes. I think that’s what the vast majority of people want to see.
The script must be top notch and razor sharp. The comedy’s got to be intelligently written and the story has to offer something original, unique, different or unexpected.
The film needs to get the balance between comedy and horror right which I think the second film failed to do. I’d also like to see an experienced composer brought in to compose the score in the style of Elmer Bernsteins original work. Use the same instruments but write new cues.
It wasn’t really the offspring team that I enjoyed, although like you said one or two wouldn’t be so bad. I just enjoyed the incorporation of hell, that the demon is Peck, and the ending with the new Ghostbusters with the old ones for "more sedate hauntings:. Love that line. But obviously Dan Aykroyd was talking about the Ghostbusters going to hell for some time before all the new hype of a third film, and it was interesting to see what that would possibly look like.
