hey i was wondering how many people had gotten around to viewing the story line/script of the 3rd film if so ur feed back… and iether way what would the fans like 2 see in a 3rd movie, do you think it would do well in theatres yes , no hit me back
like the actual script dan aykroyd and all wrote…i didnt know that there was a way to see it…if so i want to
and yes i think it will do good in theaters…sony may not think that it will do good but i do because think how many ppl will actually go to see it u know
i have heard what the movie is about, and i like it. as far as it doing good at the box office. i have no idea. personally, i would probably go see it many times over. and i believe all of us ghostheads out there would also enjoy the movie. i just dont think it would really go over as well as the first two did. also sign xenepp’s petition for the making of gb3 at http://www.ghost3usters.com/petition/default.asp. it would be hard to resurrect a 20 year old movie franchise/story. but, if the story, acting, filming, sfx, would be done as well as all the new star wars movies. it might stand a real good chance of making it at the box office. its hard to say though. it really could go either way.
There’s an article about someone who actually read the entire script and he wrote a preview of the movie script. He didn’t go too much into details just in case it they do decide to make it into a movie. I will try to look for the link for the article and post it here.
Or maybe someone else knows the link there.
It’s on ghostbusters.net somewhere, I read that guy’s article. I don’t think it’d do too well in the box office, because it would be WAY FAR TOO DIFFERENT from the first two movies. I know the original actors are getting old, but I feel the only way to really do a ghostbusters is with our home boys. Y’know, have to dust off the packs and fight evil once more, something like that.. It just wouldn’t be the same, plus the fact that I’m willing to bet the special effects wouldn’t be quite the same as they would be done with ‘better’ technology, which would take away from the ‘realness’ of the third film from the others, I’d love a third gb, but only when done like the first two.
I agree with what ecto96 has said. But I want to add my two cents as well…
I can’t say it enough, the script has to be there and it can’t deviate to far from the original story line of the first two films. And there has to be a big budget, no cutting corners. A perfect example of a 3rd sequel that failed to meet both of those points was Ninja Turtles III. :x I was a huge Ninja Turtles fan, the third film was cool simply because it was the Ninja Turtles, but other than that, I thought it sucked ass. Could have been way better, and in turn, made more money. ![]()
The other thing I want to add is, if they are going to add more (younger) members to the team, they’d better be good actors. And nothing that even remotely resembles Extreme Ghostbusters. :x I don’t consider EGB part of true GB mythos.
Wow, maybe I should go back to bed. I sound like a grumpy old man this morning.
i totaly agree, i couldnt think of any examples though. man tmnt 3 sucked, i forgot about that movie. the only way to get the original guys back in action would be to have something happen to the new crop of busters and then have the original team save them. man, that already sounds corny
Castewar at Proton Charging was offered the rare opportunity to read the script.
It at the moment has not been officially released for public consumption.
The script featured Ghostbusters Ray Stantz, Egon Spengler and Winston Zeddemore, with Janine and Louis in cameo roles and a group of new Ghostbusters.
The thing to remember with what has been mentioned of it, was that Dan Aykroyd’s ideas were always a bit farfetched and weird to begin with, it was Harold Ramis who usually tamed them and brought them into believability.
It does seem however this isn’t the most recent draft, with a more recently mentioned copy having all four original Busters back; and instead of having Hell spill into New York, it had the guys actually visit Hell which was simply a more crowded; polluted and sinister place then New York. New Jersey would’ve been Heaven.
I just had a pretty brillant idea. What if Harold Ramis and Dan Aykroyd we’re to get together, write the script and have it made into a novel for the fans. Let them write a book rather than a film so’s to still get the idea out there. That way the reader and fan can use their imagination rather than having a film ruined by up to date flashy special fx and explosions. I personally loved the Return novel and would’nt mind reading Ghostbusters: Hellbent. Not a bad idea eh?
yeah, thats a great idea!!!
It’s something I’m almost sure Sony would go for. I almost want to push this idea a little further.
DO IT!!! ![]()
i doubt sony would do that…it would be good to see it happen but i dont think sony will let it happen
I found the link. Here’s more information about Ghostbusters 3:

sweeet…
I read a review of the film. Apparently all the busters are kinda like your grandpa giving the new busters who do most of the busting. Kinda sucked I thought, from the synopsis I read.
it would be hard to resurrect a 20 year old movie franchise/story.
Ok I have read this time and time again from several people.. I have to say I honestly see NO reason that the Ghostbusters Franchise could not be resurrected.. exept for the persons at Sony ..
With all the REMAKES that keep coming out.. Why Not?..
Let me post some examples..
Supposedly they are Remaking Creepshow.. they need a sequel not a remake.. that just aint right..
Omen is coming out again, Gee thats older than Ghostbusters. hmm Kingo Kong Remake is almost 20 yrs old.. hmmm
The remade the Chainsaw Massacre, House of Wax, Hills have eyes.. I mean c’mon the hill have eyes and Chainsaw massacre were not blockbuster films and they got redone.. alll at least 15yrs old..
Even Star Wars got remade.. They call them Special Editions.. lets face facts.. exept for the fact he left our actors we grew up with in it.. he remade the movies.. well sort of.. he even took out the old Anakin.. and replaced him.. how would you like to be that actor and get removed cuz lucas thinks people are too stupid to know that its anakin.. so he had to put Hayden in his place..
Anyway.. its a good time for a Ghostbuster movie.. too bad Sony is so dang retarded..
I tried to start a rumor at Comingsoon.net about a Ghostbuster remake last year
I think, if anything, it needs a sequel not a remake. I can can’t think of one remake (besides Star Wars, but that’s a league of it’s own anyway) that was successful. I’m not talking successful in terms of money, but in, “Hey! That remake kicked ass! I want to see it a million times like I saw the original.” Maybe I’m wierd, but I’ve never thought that of a remake… I think the hills have eyes and chainsaw are older than Ghostbusters, if I’m not mistaken they’re from the 70s?
I thought that was a little lame to change the Anakin. It was just a weak way to tie the first three movies to the last three. The stupid thing is, if you never saw episode II or III, you’d see him at the end of Return of the Jedi and wonder who the hell it is. Especially because the Yoda and Kenobi he his standing with are still the older versions from the later episodes.
Actually, King Kong was a remake of a remake (not sure how many remakes there have been), and the original was made in 1933, so it?s over 70 years old.
I doubt the original actor cares?he?s dead. Anyway, I can see why this would bother a lot of people. Personally, I?m indifferent about this.
Anyway, back to the topic of GB3?I agree with what has been said about the film probably not being made (and it?s not all because of Sony; most of the actors, like Bill Murray, have declined). I?ve been hearing rumors of this for nearly ten years, and all the recent stuff that has come up is really just recycled old news (for instance the script is nothing new; it?s dated 1999). I don?t think there have been any new developments in the past five or six years. It may be fun to talk about how cool it would/could be, but I personally doubt that it?ll ever happen in reality.
