GB3 Hellbent...

ya know who could be part of the crop of busters? oscar! say the movie would be made this year and released next year. oscar was 8 months in gb2, so he would be 17, or 18 depending on how you look at it, and would be a perfect characture for the new movie. not to mention he would have personal intrest in the company. i know i read somewhere some one else saying the same thing but i dont remember where. but, i think it would be cool to have him as a buster. obviously he wont be a dr like other four but growning up around them, he would aquire a lot of knowlegde about the paranormal.

That, and I don’t think a PHd in parapsychology is really necessary to aim and fire a proton gun, which is all a GB really needs to know.

I just thought of a possibly funny scene with Oscar as a GB (it would only be funny as a reference to GB2). The guys could come back to the firehouse after a long day of busting. Oscar could be absolutley covered with slime, and someone could suggest that he take a bath. Then he could say something like “I don’t take baths, I take showers. Bathtubs give me the willies for some reason.” (him being a baby at the time of the slime-tub incident would mean that he wouldn’t actually remember it).

lmao, that would be so great, “I don’t like bathtubs.. I dunno why though” XD that would be damn funny!

True story: I once watched GB2 with my brother when he was like five (I don’t quite remember how old he was exactly; anyway, he’s almost 14 now), and for a while after that, he was scared of bathtubs (which was part of what inspired my little “funny scene” idea with Oscar).

actually, KP, that was the basis of aykroyd’s first draft. not much of anything is known about the ramis rewrite… other than that he changed a LOT. 8)

Dawn of the Dead kicked ass.

With GB3, the only thing I’m worried about is it turning into Extreme GB. The most believable part of the originals was the fact that it was basically 3 nerds and one guy who needed a job(Winston) running around busting ghosts. What I’m saying is I don’t want it to turn into a politically correct version of the originals. It’d be like Captain Planet with proton packs.

I’m all for a younger cast, but I don’t want another comedy that spends half the movie developing the new characters in relation to their new stereotypical representations of different lifestyle/gender/race.

Amen brother.

Though a plus side to the remake, is if you notice in the first two you only see one ghost actually busted in each film. With today’s technology for special effects, you could see more ghosts busted, that was one of my favorite parts in the films was watching them get captured. When discussing stuff like this you have to look at all aspects.

No, they busted more than one ghost in GB2. I assume you’re counting the courtroom bust as one (not sure how their name is spelled), but you also see them bust the running ghost (and you could count the jewelry store ghost busted with the funky tripod laser trap thing).

Hm, yeah I suppose you’re right, but I’m talking about the blast-everything proton beams, ya don’t see it as much as I’m sure you’d all like to. In our fanfilm we’re gonna do alot of it if we can figure out how to do the effect

i have to agree, i would like to see more actually busting. in gb, it was slimer and staypuff man. in gb2, it was the scolari brothers and vigo. the jewelery store really doents count cause A) you dont actually see them busting the ghost abd B) you dont see the ghost.

I had heard about a few scripts written by Mr. Aykroyd a few years back, but I read Sony had shot em all down. I haven’t heard anything had been released. Where can I read the new storyline?

I don’t think there is a new one. I think everyone’s been talking about one of the old ones. I don’t think there have been any real updates or news about GBIII for several years (I’ve seen a few “news” announcements, but they turned out to be recycled old news).

This had been a long day, and it was only four in the afternoon. The guys just needed a damn break. The Ecto-2 pulled into the firehouse and out limped her passengers. This team of Ghostbusters, although younger were still subject to the same hellish schedule that plagued the original team. That is to say, there was no schedule.

The young group that comprised the new GB team fell, slipped, and limped from the Ecto-2. First out was Marcus, their current driver. He was a top-rate mechanic, with a good instinct for leading. His dark skin shone with sweat from the hellish temperatures outdoors. He had taken the jacket portion of his flight-suit and tied it about his waist. Second out was Jaina. She was a young woman with great knowledge of the supernatural, and a great admiration of the original GB team. She was a very short and pale woman. She preferred to think of her skin as porcelain. The blue streaks in her primarily red hair made her easily noticeable, not to mention the fact that her considerable bust was being shown off under a dark spaghetti-strap shirt. Like Marcus, she had her suit tied around her waist.

Her boyfriend was next out of the car. The step-son of Dr. Venkman of the original team, Oscar had grown up around Ghostbusters and busting in general. There was no better shot on the team than he. As he got out of the car he slipped a smoke out of the pack and lit up. God that feels good he thought to himself. His hair was cropped short to the sides of his head, and slightly longer up front that the rest of his head, which was still very tightly cut. He wore silver guage-style earrings in both ears and was the only one of the group with his sleeves rolled up and his suit hanging open, not tied up. His name may have been Oscar, but the group referred to him as Oz.

Last out of the car was Marcus? best friend, Carlos. They had both grown up in the Bronx together and had been through damn near everything together. He had very little accent, and was only of half-hispanic descent. His father was American, and his mother was Mexican. His full name was Carlos Patterson. There was a slight tension between he and Oscar because Oz had something Carlos wanted: Jaina. They were still buds, but the occasional flare up was not surprising.

As they exited the large black Ecto-2, Carlos started asking Oscar why he had frozen when the tub had started spewing green slime at them and tried to bounce up and out of the third-floor bathroom of a local apartment building.

?I just got this thing about tubs man. They give me the ■■■■■■ creeps, and I?m not really sure why.? Oz responded. He should?ve asked his mother; she knew why.

I just wrote this based on your inspiration. Enjoy!

…lmao that’s awesome bro

AWSOME!!!

Thanks.. I thought they mighta sounded too much like the EGB tho.. But then again, I liked EGB… why did everyone hate it so much?

Eh, I liked it too. I only remember like, a few little things but I only saw a few episodes. Ah well, I liked what I saw.

WHOA, IDEA! ok, so im watching gb2 and the perfect setting came to mind. when peter is on the “world of the psycics”, the woman thats on the show said the alien told here the wolrd would end on feburary 14, 2016. granted if they made the mode now, it would way far into the future, but other movies successfully pulled off being set in a future time…

I still stand by my beliefs. There’s no reason to have a multicultural/gender love fest just because it’s politically correct. I stand by my point of the original movies being so believable because it was three nerds out trapping ghosts, with the help of someone who just needed a job.

The problem with sequels like this is that writers always have to find a way to include everyone and show how equal we are, and how at first everyone is hesitant toward their new partner/co-worker/co-buster, but soon finds that we’re all human and we’re not so different after all. Hollywood had been dumping this same load for years, and the average viewer goes back to the cinema and eats it up.

This is why I’m hesitant to even have a sequel. More likely than not the third movie would turn out to be just like EGB in more ways than one. Not only would it have the same basic plot line, but it would also be the black sheep of the 3 movies, just like EGB is the black sheep of the cartoons.
