I checked on Chris Ryall’s blog today and found this. RyallTime: Ghost of a chance Hopefully they won’t keep us in suspense for too long.
Also, Tom Nguyen will be at the MCBA MicroCon this Sunday (4/26) at the Minnesota State Fair Grounds. If he’s still involved maybe he’ll be able to give us more news.
Proton Charging reported a few months ago that Scott Lobdell, previously of X-Men, is rumored to be the writer. He got his start doing humor stories for Marvel (in What The? ) so he has the comedic background to make it work.
Though our very own Tristan Jones hinted about that same time that he might be in the running. Either one of those guys would be awesome.
Definitely a step up. Liking that the covers match the interiors.
I’m a little wary of the time traveling story…but cutie future chick buster is making up for it.
I wonder how hard it would be to get the gig for the next mini-series/story. I have a pretty righteous one I’ve been sitting on for a bit… anyone know anything about submitting stuff to IDW?
Yep, I was asked to pitch. I had a story ready to go, and was told it was between my story and two others. What was odd was I was told that they didn’t want time travel or anything like that, which is what this seems to be about. I didn’t think I had any real chance to be honest, TMNT isn’t read by a lot of people in spite of the decent reviews, and when I read on CBR that Lobdell was already working on it, that kinda cinched the deal I guess. I was told that what I put forward would’ve made a great comic, Sony just went for the other one apparently. Still kinda scratching my head, and I can’t say I’m not disappointed, but it is good to see that there will be more comics.
Aw, ■■■■. “Egon, Venkman, Ray, Winston, and some Super Special New Ghostbuster You Never Heard Of Before.” It’s not a good sign when the plot summary starts off like 95% of the worst of bad fanfiction.
:eyeroll: --“Female Ghostbuster? Don’t we have one of those already?”
Ah well, that and the plot similarities to “Tobin and the Maze of Time” aside (I mean, how many people even know what I mean by that? ), Scott Lobdell earns a shot.
considering the guy behind this is a fan of ghostbusters (compared to Keith champane) it sounds good, and i’m liking the ghost splits them up through time travel idea.
makes you wonder who they will bust in which time period… or alternate reality as it sounds with winston. (my guess is he ended up in an alternate future dominated by ghosts since the busters were not around, and they use some humans as slaves… who knows. it worked in EGB in the ghost / terminator esque future)
I like venkmans Man with no name outfit, and i’m fine with the female ghostbuster (first was kylie)… nothing wrong with that. Gives something new… and someone probably for venkmans eye.
Makes sense that Egon would end up in the future, but thats just me.
and compared to the other comics, it looks like there will be finnaly some usages of the proton streams!
i’m supporting this comic and can not wait until it comes out. and reading through some comments i found on the comic site and proton charging i think we really should wait and give it a chance before Champange blasting it.
and that reminds me… didnt the origional idea for ghostbusters have the guys going through time busting ghosts? hmmm… maybye that was the inspiration for this.
