Sandra said they have a long trip home, and will have to pack up, so hey won;t be doing the outdoor movie event on sunday night.
I also found out that Friday’s (our get together location) Has happy hour from 3-7pm.. if someone is planning on drinking there, they might want to show up a bit early, to take advantage of that.
I’m pretty sure they’re giving us a deal on drinks to begin with..
Gareee, where did you guys see $12 a day for parking? Just wondering where I missed it, I saw $8 and $10 for oversized vehicles…thanks

It would be cheaper if you want to save money, to park somewhere large on the trolley route, and then pay the $6 for a three day unlimited ride trolley ticket.. that would save you about $30.
I do see on the front megacon page, where it says $8 and $10, but the hotel website information shows more.. it could be they never updated the information on the megacon site… I’d trust the hotel info over the megacon info for hotel specific things.
I don’t recall Sandra saying anything like that, but we’ll take any discount we can get!
Depending on how megacon unfolds, we might head there earlier to partake of the happy hour stuff.. we’re just playing it loose.
The convention center has their own parking lot, the Hotel tries to take advantage of this by opening their parking lot and charging more money for parking, they did that last year…
When the lot fills up, people wil have to use it. I remembe rparking at megacon years ago a few blocks away, because everything was full up.
It’d be nice to have the car there to stow our gear if we choose to, but I also don’t want it baking in hot florida sun either. Looks like 76+ degrees now.. in a closed car, thats 90-100 in full sun.
Clarification… I saw the parking info on the convention center’s website not the hotel next door’s. It could be that Megacon has made arrangements for a lower price for parking or that they haven’t updated their website with the new fees set by the convention center. Either way since our hotel is practically right on the Drive it is more cost effective for us to use the trolley system.
Bring a blanket to cover your stuff. I also read in the Orlando Sentinel, there might be less people attending this convention than last year as a whole.
And I guess those of us actually having rooms at the hotel, since we’re hotel patrons, we can park in those parking lots until we’re out of there?
Also, just to note, I’ll have a couple more friends attending the GB Dinner.

We’re hitting the road in the ECTO-1B tomorrow morning at 6am. Have to be at the convention center at 7:30am.

I’m going on Saturday.. this will be my first “Con” of any kind. So what the F? Do I just suit up in the parking lot by my car and drag my ass into the convention? For those of you who have not been to Orange County Convention Center, you park next to the building.. but they always find a way to make you walk about 100 miles to the entrance of the event itself. One there then what? Do I go find other ghostbusters and just stand around and pose for pictures? I’m so looking forward to this, but I have no idea what to expect.
Your first Con as a GB? or first Con as a human being? (Lol j/k) Yea, the Ecto-mobile is suppose to be up front as some kind of Rhondavue (sp?) point. You can come and go as you please, go into the convention, people might grab you want your picture with them, you might want you pictures with people, look at the women in skimpy outfits, take more pictures, look at the vendors, say hi to the celebrities, take a gander at more women in skimpy outfits, wash rinse repeat, go back to the Ecto-1 and hang out and talk Ghostbuster stuff, wash rinse repeat. lol
Ok, so pretty much both as a Person and as a Ghostbuster. Sounds like the drill is to use my fame and celebrity as a Ghostbuster to take as many photos as I can with women in Skimpy Outfits.. as that was referenced above several times. Hopefully these are good looking women… not sure I can handle the other kind. Sounds like just an afternoon of wandering around in costume for everyone. Ok, then at least I’m somewhat prepared for that.
