Heard there was a major cameo. Since it’s not Moranis, I’m just curious if it’s Ghostbusters-related at all, or perhaps some other type of cameo?

Major? I wouldn’t call it major. Minor and extremely surprising. If someone says they saw this cameo coming they’re full of it. It’s definitely Ghostbusters related as it’s a character we haven’t seen since the original film.

On a cool note, when the theater let out I was able to get a picture with the person as they were leaving.

Well most of the cast returned for GB 2 and you mentioned that no one predicted it so with those qualifiers…

Oh shi- is it

Reginald VelJohnson’s cop in GB1?

[deadderek]

I WISH. That would have been a cool throwback.

Ok i got to guess…One of Venkman Students? Maybe the Manager at the Hotel? The head Liberian (Not the older woman but the other guy who called them) or Dean Yeager? Cant be mayor lenny, that actor sadly passed away a few years back. We know from the trailer Walter Peck is in it, so thats not a surprise. You said Gostbusters 1 so that rules out Janosz and Fullerman, We know from your own admition its not Rick Moranis, cant be Dana as you said we haven’t seen this person since the first film… Maybe one of the reporters?

This is driving me crazy now lol! My guess…Slimers back, he maybe goes to the Sedwedge Hotel and the manager finds him…Or the Head Libarian? They go to the Library in the trailer, maybe he’s still working there.

Logically im drawing a blank! Which i love… just let me know if im close or way off the mark?

Maybe its the maid? One of the dropping off or picking up cops? Im so excited! This is going to be a brutally long week!

[deadderek]

If you REALLY want to know DM me. I’m off to bed for the moment though y’all. Talk you guys later.

[yourbigpalal83]

Ill wait till i see the movie! Its going to drive me insane but you basically answered all the major questions i wanted to know before seeing the movie that i was truly anxious about. After that, im perfectly fine letting the story and suprises play out on the big screen next weekend. Thank you so much!

[lairdphilip]

what charakter is Emily Alyn Lind playing? has she a major role or just a filling one?

is she a ghost? i heared rumours about this possibility.

[icecoldinalex]

If the cameo isn’t a mid credits scene detailing everything the red headed “alright! alright!” guy has been doing from 84 to now, then I’m boycotting.

[alphagaia]

It’s going to be blowjob ghost. Time to finish it.

[Ectopher]

Moranis question - check

Oscar question - check

Is Dana anywhere to be seen? I loved seeing her and Venkman in Afterlife.

Prediction for GB1 reference… Alice from the library? Or… the Dean from the university; “we’re reinstating your positions at the University, with a specialist department to study the paranormal!”

That’s why Aykroyd is so pleased with this movie.

No one dies.

thats a relief.

I also hear the OGs have a good amount of screentime.

We know Afterlife is 'technically" the 3rd film, but in retrospect acts more like a 'spin off" to set up this film..

that being said would you consider that this is pretty darn close to being the real live-action GB3 we’ve been talking about since 1998? (core concept: OGs bringing on a new team)

Afterlife and this feel like adaptations of what Dan pitched for GB 3,yes.

Only thing missing is Manhellton or the fleet of Ectos. The videogame got Ghostworld,if there is a sequel i could see going into other dimensions being part of it(maybe meeting the GB 2016 cast?)

I just wanna know if RPJ theme is in the movie (original, not the re-recorded one nor the remix in the trailers) and whereabouts it is

Yes, and he was in attendance at the premiere. It didn’t sound like a new mix to me…

Glad you enjoyed the film.

Can you rate all the Ghostbusters movies out of 5 including Frozen Empire? That way, it will be a good way to gauge how high your bar is.

For example:

Ghostbusters (1984) - 5 out of 5.

Ghostbusters II (1989) - 4 out of 5.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife - 3.5 out of 5.

On the same level of Afterlife? How would you rank it with the other GB films?

Honestly? I feel it’s better than Afterlife. It definitely moves along a lot faster. No “dead” spots or parts that dragged on. Rank? GB1, GB2, FE, & Afterlife.

Is GB2 ranked above FE because of nostalgia or a objectively a better movie?

Maybe it’s

The man in the hotel asking the NEW team if they’re supposed to be some sort of cosmonaut.

Or,

The stiff.

My money’s on it being the ConEd guy. He sees the red beam in the sky and goes “Oh, shit.”

I was literally about to post that almost word for word! My other immediate thoughts were the “Ghostbusters! Alright!” Guy and the police officer who yells at Peck.

So, any predictions on the success this will have (domestically and/or internationally)? edit: Tonight’s crowd was full of fans, but do you think that broader audiences will also like it?

I think they picked the worst time to release it,sandwiched between Godzilla,Kung fu Panda and Dune.

I also think they fumbled a bit on the marketing.

In an effort to avoid spoilers in the main trailers they just hid alot.Only to almost spoil everything in the tv spots.

I don’t know if it’s a hot take but i never thought i was going to get any ghostbusters sequel for YEARS and after 2016 i thought the franchise was buried, fact that Afterlife even exists felt like a miracle. So if Frozen Empire underperforms and Sony freaks out and pulls the trigger i won’t be too sad.Sad for the new cast but hey.I got not only a GB 3 but a GB4,13 year old me who searched for any GB3 news back in the 2000s would be pretty happy

Could totally see another Jason Reitman friend popping up,i remember doing a double take seeing Jk Simmons and Olivia Wilde in Afterlife

Yeah, I think GxK is going to eat into the box office for GB:FE quite a bit.

[davideverona]

We have to pick someone who’s around the Ghostbusters age or younger.

Anyone significantly older it’s passed away or retired

Kaiju Avengers is going to be huge. I liked GvK a lot. Will be the first time I go to the movies two weekends in a row, in a very long time.
