Ghostbusters II Score?

After watching the new trailer for about 500 000 times, I thought that the music in the beginning was from Ghostbusters II score (you know, “when the city quakes in fear” -part). I compared the trailers music to score found in Spook Central (http://www.ecto-web.org/~spookcentral/gb2_score.htm), and I think that Atari used “track 22” in trailer.

So, could this mean that GBII score is in the actual game?

The very first thing heard in the trailer is actually from GB1. Listen to the ballroom scene during “Okay Ray give me one high and outside”. The part in the trailer wasn’t heard in the film but a similar bit from the same cue that was written.

Kinda funny in the original GB2 trailer, they used music from the first movie. I guess before everything was set. We haven’t heard any instance of Ghostbusters 2 music in any previews yet though. :whatever:

Its been said before that the game will use the scores for both movies as well as unreleased score material.

I know they’re using the score from the first film, but they’re also using the score from GB2?

I dont think they’ll be doing anything from the Ghostbusters 2 score.

Really? I could of sworn I read otherwise. Wouldn’t really bother me though as I never cared for that score.

The ‘two scores’ thing comes from page 5 of the Wii article in Nintendo Power (image originally posted by Lionheart on GB.net), which you can see here:

the passage in question being: “access to the** films’** complete original scores… as well as nearly every song that appeared in the movies” - bolded for emphasis!

Now, it’s perfectly possible that it is a case of crossed wires for the journalist there, but i personally wouldn’t mind that rousing, ‘magnificent seven’-esque music from the end of GB2 making a cameo - i reckon that bit would be pretty motivating in a tight spot!

I’d prefer just the first film score (should that be the plan they’d always had). Had the second film been scored by Bernstein then maybe things would be different, but they’re such different styles I’m not sure they could really work together.

there’s also the ‘every song’ from the two soundtracks thing, which i would of course take with the same pinch of salt. still, a little bit of ‘savin’ the day’ wouldn’t go amiss!

I agree in not thinking the two would work well together. Everything looks like the tone is similar to Ghostbusters 1. Bernstein’s creepy and chilling themes are I think gonna be really suitable for this game.

That said, I do love Ghostbusters II’s score for being different, the new themes explored. Everyone said it sounded too kiddy. There was a KID in it. Oscar’s theme was fun and bouncy. The evil sounds associated with Vigo and the new theme for the guys. The whole thing was more triumphant, uplifting and heroic I think. Suitable for the events in the movie. :angryvigo:

Also the GB2 score was starting to move into the 90’s music sounds, synths and ideas. GB1’s score used the iconic sounds from the 80’s.

Agreed. GB 1 scorce is much more suitable, although, i believe new scores should be created for the fast paced action in the game…

Gb 1 didn’t have too many action sequences, the real attractive aspect to the Gb 1 score is the ambiance it creates while searching for spooks. Kinda creepy, nerve wrecking, melodies provide an excellent background when not busting ghosts.

the **PlayrTv Demo **had a really good score in the background while the character was “shotgunning” the little entities…It was face paced and lively and it really added a sesne of urgency to the atomosphere.

I can’t wait to hear what the soundtrack will sound like…and if i dont like it…i’ll just pop in my I POD and listen to Ray Parker Jr. the whole time lol

I wouldn’t want the score from GB2 used, but I would love to have some of the songs from the soundtrack. Bobby Brown and Run DMC would be awesome.

I wonder if we will get to hear hit songs from 1991?

Maybe get some Vanilla Ice, or Color Me Badd.

Ice Ice Baby.
