Hello Boys and Girls.
It’s been a while since I’ve visited this place but I thought I would say hi.
I found this project sitting unfinished on my computer about 2 months ago. I’d almost completely forgotten about it. I found that I still really liked it and wanted to see the project through to completion. So for the last month and a half I have worked diligently on finishing up the effects.
Now that it is done I thought I’d share it with you being that it is Ghostbusters and all.

Seriously, I’ve watched your first attempt so many times. There is something just so gorgeous about your hand animated stream and I can honestly say you’ve outdone it ten fold. Holy ■■■■. I think the way your electricity stays for a few frames after the beam is gone is an amazing touch.

I used the same tricks that I used for my first video. All the effects were done in photoshop. The beams were all classically animated frame by frame as was the rotoscoping of the ghost.
Thank you for the huge compliment, Shades. I agree, the beams are much better this time 'round. I had a lot of fun animating them, particularly the electricity.
The challenge with this video was getting the ghost to interact with the environment. That was the hardest part. Having it move the garbage bin, reaching in, sticking it’s head in the can and then knocking it over and flying circles around me was not easy. The ghost is a tiny puppet (approx. 1:6th scale) and had to be shot with a miniature bin and then inserted into the live action plate with the full size bin. It took some work to get it right.
Yeah, there are a few nods to Sam Raimi and the Evil Dead, like the ghost POV shots with the hands in the frame. However, I tried to keep a GB vibe going throughout the vid.
I also had fun editing the sound. All around it was a very enjoyable project.

One of the coolest fan videos I’ve seen in ages. Love the kinetic camerawork, the ghost, and the proton effects. Classical animation is the way to go. Really makes me hungry for more!
