How much new unexplained things did you see in GB2 and just except. I welcomed the new tech from GB reboot. I even hope to see RGB tech in it.
It was; i’ve just thrown a quick&dirty montage to point this out for those interested:
But since this is of course an restoration-car-issue, not an actual flaw or turndown of the teaser, it would be better discussed in a seperate ecto restoration-rant thread i quess
… is the one already out there by the way?
<goes duck 'n cover>
Maybe the logo is bigger now because they took off the GB2 logos and put new larger ones on?..while I don’t expect them to count it, it had the original logo again in the video game which was after GB2…That’s my canon and I’m sticking with it ![]()
Wouldn’t think so, 'cause afaik ecto-1a is still physically another car, so the was no reason for the gb-2 logo to be attached to the ecto-1, which was running around at the beginning of GB2 with it’s original logos still on (plus the sirene-cover upside-down 'n stuff…but that’s another story
)
Nah that’s not smaller … It’s just further away
:lol:
I know the 1A is a different car…production wise however because in the universe of the film the car is supposed to be the same…the logos would have been changed. Story wise the cars are the same. They’re not gonna use the original car from GB1 because it sits on the soy lot and doesn’t run too well now anyway which is why a fan car was used for the Wal-Mart commercial. Why the logo is bigger then it was on the original car I don’t know production wise, story wise I’m just pretending because they put new decals on it.

The Wal-Mart commercial is one thing, as they needed it to drive from place to place, but given this one’s stationary, it easily could be the Ecto-1 from the first movie.
Production wise, the logo could be bigger because the people footing the bill wanted it bigger… Or somebody made a mistake when they were scaling it to print.
Guys, companies change logo’s all the time. It’s not that far out there they changed GB2 sign after a while. No one batted an eye in the videogame as well, and that one was considered canon for the longest time. ![]()
Granted, 59 Cadillac Ambulances are HARD to find, but that sort of thing has Never stopped a studio from making more than one vehicle before.
Or repairing/re-fitting something that needs it.
Seriously, the (1984)Ecto-1 is just as important as the Cast, Packs & Logo itself when the movie is mashed together… In a hopeful 2020 masterpiece.
I’m pretty sure they can always have a new one custom made–fiberglass shells and whatnot. It would cost a pretty penny, but I’m sure it is doable.
Naaah the 2020 one needs to be a modern day Camaro like bumblebee from transformers as now they might not make more transformer movies Sony can make a sweet sweet penny on that Camaro product placement money
I’m now banned from the site aren’t I? :lol:
What’s up with the editting?
Yes, the logo on the car isn’t the logo as seen in the movie. From my understanding, the whole entire back door isn’t either. The door originally belonged to the Ecto-1A and was fit onto Ecto-1 during the last restoration (as the 1A was being used as parts). I read this years back and I am sure you can all find this info with some old forum digging here on the site. Besides, who cares about the logo on the car when this is about the teaser? There’s a ton of inaccuracies with the Ecto-1 now versus what’s seen the films.
The story of Ecto 1s rear door during restoration is probably the only useful thing I’ve ever brought to the forum, many years ago, though others had the information to fill the story. Ecto 1 and 1A in the BluRay Restoration - Ectomobiles - GBFans.com
Besides this, does anyone else think what’s left of the 1A may be used and abused in the new movie as it’s still owned and stored by Sony? The 1 was used just for the shoot of the teaser I guess as it’s more mobile and only a quick peak, I think 1A is likely to be used as the wreck version in the movie itself.
You’d be surprised.
They did???
They did???
Anything can and will be nitpicked. ![]()

Not to mention if the studio wanted to recreate one they’d have the resources to go out and find one. No doubt the 59 Miller meteor is even more rare now than it was in the 80’s but if Sony wants one I’m sure Sony could get one.
I agree, I don’t think the car from the teaser is the original from the first film that sits on the lot BUT if it comes out officially that it was then I’ll happily admit to being wrong. I’d love it if the original was there for stationary shots, like Peter Mayhew as Chewbacca in EP7. Anytime chewie is sitting it was Peter. For ep 8 and Solo it’s been Joonas full time playing Chewbacca.
I’ve heard rumors the cast are supposed to be 12/ 13…what’s the point of showing us the Ecto if the kids aren’t even old enough to drive it?

Aside from the infamous logo? Well, I dont remember anywhere else the GB’s stored the packs in the first 2 movies. Or I could be horribly wrong, were if that is the case somebody please slime me! lol
