I was watching some youtube video of the Universal Studios show the sppooktacular and someone commented saying that the Ghostbusters have been added back to the park walkers and possibly be plans for a new show. I wouldn’t be thinking anything the scale of the Spooktacular (but I can dream.) Is that’s just someone talking out their ear or is that actually anyone else has heard? I mean if they made a GB3 then it would make sense to have a hype show if the park gets rights again maybe, but still it’s a long shot.
There was talks of a Ghostbusters attraction opening at Universal Studios Dubai over in India,but I have not heard anything else on the subject,but keep in mind that it was all just talk.
I highly doubt we will ever see the GBs back at Universal Studios Florida since there is now a giant hole with a roller coaster going through the top window of the firehouse facade.
Figured as much and the Twister ride was so lame I think that I wanted to talk out and get in line for the Mummy instead of just waiting to see if I’d “survive the twister.” Make me sad.
We can dream though. Maybe they’ll get wise and make another show not as eleborate as the Spooktacular but still something like the short lived Extreme Ghostbusters show a while back.

id love to see one. isadly missed the 1st one so would love them to reopen a gb show. im still sad they got rid of back to the future aswel.

that would be the only reason why id step foot at usf. closing king kong in favor of mummy, and throwing twister in too? poop. poooop. halloween horror nights with zombies is neat, everything else about usf sucks.

I found the Mummy ride to be alright. not too bad and although I was sad for the Back to the FUture ride being gone the Simpsons was atleast enjoyable. Twister’s just plain boring. Like you forget you’re at a theme park and have the suddent urge to go home and pick up videogames to get away form the mudane repetativeness of everyday life boring. :sigh:
I’m going to USF for the first time in august! I was excited to go but now im not sure if im going to like it! ahh well, still keeping an open mind for it
USF has Ghostbusters copyrighted for 2009 on their website.
that would be for the walkers, not necessarilly a show…

They’re not coming back in the States. No walkers, no show, no Ecto - nothing. The licensing was renewed for the Dubai park, which is having an updated version of the Extreme Ghostbusters Great Fright Way show. That’s all, so nothing to get excited about.

actually that sounds about right. this whole dubai universal is insane. i heard the whole park is going to be under a huge dome.
I used to work as a sign guy at Universal in 2004, which is pretty much prop department, same building. I hit up one of my contacts after reading this, and they said they hadn’t heard anything but the Dubai thing. No Proton Pack molds for the park versions exist anymore, they wore out and were destroyed around 1997, hence the reason the XGB show didn’t have them. Doesn’t mean they couldn’t make some new ones, just that the Orlando team isn’t involved in anything upcoming.
Fun fact: The old foam Proton Packs used in the show/walkarounds only had a life of a two years before the humidity and sun rotted them.
