Atari has released a brand new trailer, along with the new release window for Ghostbusters: The Video Game. Picked up in October, the video game is scheduled by Atari for a June 2009 release. Check out the brand new trailer (seen above), it shows some great cinematic scenes with some awesome new dialog from the original actors.
Thanks to river_of_slime for being the first one to send it in!
Haha it looks good, though there didnt look to be much gameplay there, it was mainly ingame movies. Still though if they are the movies it does look like it will be a good laugh and they look excellent.
It’s the first time we have seen Peck and Venkman in action with voices. It’s also good to see all those vicious rumours of Murray ridiculous pay demands stopping the game being unfounded! Some people should hang their heads for getting on his back for it when it was so obviously untrue.
Anyway, I’m really looking forward to seeing more of this game in action now as that trailer has really set me off again. Well done Atari for picking this up and lifting a lot of fans spirits.
I can’t see any more big setbacks to be honest as the game was nearly done and they have had more than enough extra time created by the delay in finding a publisher. TR would have know it was going to be Atari well before the public did, just think how far in avance the rumours came out.
I like the way the trailer is done like a Movie trailer, giving little hints here and there, interlaced with snippits of footage. It ads to the feel TR wanted when they went for a game that was like an interactive film.
I think if it is ok with AJ, I’ll start tidying up the Game section of the site properly with a bottle of wine. It needs splitting into more defined sections now with more of the plot and stuff being revealed. I’ll see what he says when he gets on later.
Amazing! I think some of the other dialogue in the game will show off the other actors a little better but Harold Ramis owned this one IMO. He IS Egon again. :sigh:
Yeah. Like it seemed like Murray was a bit soft spoken like his recent work. Here’s hoping he didn’t phone it in and some of the other dialogue brings back the familiar sounds of Venkman. Maybe it’s just those quiet kind of subtle remarks. Hopefully he can GET CRAZY on the streets of Manhattan with some wild Venkman dialogue.
I was gonna say something about Dan’s voice. Almost like when he tried too hard on BB2000 and overdid Elwood. Some of the other voice we’ve heard of him does indeed sound like an excited Ray. Don’t get me wrong, I’m far from unhappy, just some things noticed. This will be great! Manly the line where he says “That’s your cue Killer” like it was weird or cut off. It did sound a little more like BB2000 Elwood than Ray Stantz.
Like at the end where he says “Where’s the fun in that” it seems Venkman would say something like “Oh come ooon Winston, where’s the fun in that?” Again hopefully I don’t come across as one of those guys who isn’t happy or grateful, just some little observations that can easily be overlooked.
The cut bit from that line of Ray’s is “Killer”, regarding the probie.
I’ll repost what I said on GBN:
Holy f*cknuts, is that awesome.
Here I was, expecting we wouldn’t be seeing anything before New Year’s, but we have a collection of really cool new screenshots from the Wii and 360 versions of the game… and one hell of a kickass trailer!
Goddam! Atari, I am once again in your debt.
Great lines, great visuals (Stay Puft in Times Square!, that shot of the energy field spreading out from Manhattan!), frankly, this is awesome.
We saw everybody! They all looked great and sounded great! The graphics are AMAZING! I’m going to regard this as the best early b-day/Christmas present EVER! I love how they bust out the dance too! That made me laugh so hard!
ARRRRRGH, I’m off to watch it 200 more times
Between this and finally seeing the original RGB promo, I am having a fracking FANTASTIC day!
Probably because Activision were pulling out and behind the scenes things were up in the air so not much time and effort was spent making trailers etc.
I just re watch the trailer again for the insert random number and noticed a few things.
One when you see Ecto-1 speeding away there is something big on the roof rack but at the end you can see that Egon has the PKE up to celine of the car taken readings.
Two when the rookie see Stay Puft his going “Oh shit” most lol
Theres a Macy balloon that gets proceed, almost like Murray the Mantis episode.
