Glue?????......

What type of glue is the best to use for the pack and wand?

elmers glue stick

Some use an epoxy, but so far I’ve used Gorilla Glue and it holds so much tighter than Crazy Glue. Once I get to the big peices I’m investing in the epoxy.

Yeah I think I will use gorilla for the smaller and epoxy for the bigger. Thanks

As has been tossed up epoxy and gorilla (urethane) glues are going to offer the best long term holding power…

One thing to note with the gorilla (urethane) glue is that it foams up and expands when it’s curing and this should be taken into consideration… Also gorilla glue likes water when curing, placing a damp paper towel (squeeze it out well, we don’t want wet just damp) over the area being glued will help the glue set, you can also dampen up the plastic/wood before applying the glue…

Intresting,I did not know that about gorilla glue…Thanks

i started with gorilla glue but stuff got knocked off easily. i used some epoxy here and there but i found that liquid nail works the best for resin to resin piece and for attaching elbows, wires, hoses, etc

Whatever glue or epoxy you choose to use for best results (especially on flat parts) is to rough up the surfaces or drill small anchor holes into both parts to give the adhesives something to hold onto. Kind of gives the effect of putting in a peg.

i use loctite gel for plastic. works great!

FYI. Gorilla does make their own brand of super glue as well, which doesn’t expand at all. A little dab on your part, and it’s on there forever.

I use this stuff, Devcon Plastic Welder. Although this has worked just fine for me, I haven’t tried any of the stuff you guys recommended, I definitely will on my next build.

How about JB Weld?

I happen to love Aleene’s Tacky Glue. It’s available at Wal*Mart and Hobby Lobby. That stuff is awesome. Back before I hollowed out my Spacer and Cyclotron, they weighed in at about 20 pounds, just themselves. I held them on for a year with nothing more than 6 drops of the stuff.

It’s pretty pliable when dry, too, so it doesn’t give way very easily. Really resilient stuff.

Liquid Nails, always.

epoxy’s the best IMO
