If you used 1/16" sheet aluminum for the motherboard it would be stronger, a little easier to work with and it would be in scale.
Thanks! I will be building my 3/4 scale pack in a few months and I’ll take more pictures of the steps then. What specifically did you want to see and I’ll make sure I put it in that thread. I can also answer any questions here in this one.
Awesome idea! and it was going to be where I headed, but while picking up some other things in the hobby store I picked up a sheet of aircraft plywood. It was super light, very sturdy, and easy to work with. I’ll post pictures of the catastrophe and the plywood replacement soon. I have been REALLY worried about weight with this pack because my children are both under 5 and I’m really trying to limit the weight while adding functionality like lights and sounds.
Also, here is a brief video of the GBFans pack light and sound kit.
would you be interested in commissioning one of these alice frames for a half size pack?
please delete.
I’m still working on this project. My kids have been enjoying the heck out of this and the little jump suits we put patches on. The battle (play) damage actually adds to the look of well used gear.
Here is where it sits.
I still need to fix the pack to motherboard gap and re-do the brackets. The hoses, clamp/ribbon cable, make resistors, boost tube ladder, v-hook for thrower, and a few other miscellaneous things need to be updated. But here it is so far!
Sorry - just seeing this now. Nothing specific - I’d just love to see your process in fabricating the frame. I’m working on a 3/4 pack now, and the frame is one of the trickiest parts.
