Hey everyone,
I joined the site way back in 2009, made one post (not even an introduction)…and then pretty much promptly forgot about the site.
Well, I’m back, so I’ll introduce myself properly. I’m Ed, from New Orleans, LA, but I’ve previously spent a big chunk of time in Minneapolis, MN, so I’m familiar with some of the Louisiana and Twin Cities Ghostbusters. I started my costuming/propmaking journey in 2005, and have costumes from Star Wars (Member of the 501st Legion and Rebel Legion), Stargate, and (the reimagined) Battlestar Galactica (Member of The Colonial Fleet). I attend several conventions each year, namely Dragon Con in Atlanta, CONvergence in Minneapolis, and MechaCon in New Orleans.
When I was 5, my mom made me a cardboard proton pack for Halloween, which I ended up wearing around the house daily until it finally fell apart. There’s a picture somewhere of me wearing it, pointing my wand at the camera. Since I started costuming, I’ve wanted to recreate that photo with something a bit more sophisticated than a couple of cardboard boxes and a plastic tube. So, here I am, and I’m looking forward to it!
