The last few weeks have been REALLY busy for me, what with the holidays, and my new job. Now, that isn’t an excuse, but every free moment I’ve had for the last month has been with a pair of wire crimpers or a soldering iron. The last few kits should be going out in the mail tomorrow, actually.
After that, I am taking a long-needed break. I have had a few things that I’d love to get sorted out to increase the smoothness and speed of this whole process for not only me, but for everyone involved, but just keeping up with orders basically eats up every free moment of my time.
Donovan, I’ll get a battery connector and a switch out your way this afternoon.
Do you have a rough idea how long you want the break to be? I’m interested in discussing your sound kit in conjunction with a Jupiter light kit, once you’ve returned refreshed.
Just to clear up my stance on this non/issue (at least it is for me anyways) l ordered this deal in mid november and have yet to recieve anything. I have made a few comments on this board in reguards to my order but thats about it I have a life and know every one else does too even Crix. Running with my worth the wait comment is just my point of view, if you read back in this post Crix has come on here and said he was behind and had to put together a few kits but had all the parts to do so which is fine for me. Shit happens and i know we are lucky to have some one around who is willing to invest his time and go through the trouble to even put something like this light and sound kit together in the first place. Its not like this stuff is something i could put together myself thats why in my opinion ITS WORTH THE WAIT. And by the way Crix when you get some time Im willing to pay in advance for your wand light kit that your still in prototype stage with, I have faith in ya man LOL. As for the rest of you guys please continue to hop up and down on one foot screaming foul until your faces turn blue . Let the beatings comence.!
im not getting into this or taking sides but for something you say is a fix for less than 5 dollars is rubbish, time is money my friend, fuel money or public transport to the electronic shop, an hour of the mans time getting there and back and doing the the work and thats assuming he even has a soldering iron or knows how to use one.
when you posted that, quoting a statement that was made would be you “getting in to it”. as for the whole time is money, thing COMMON really? this person is building a PROTON PACK, they take up LOTS OF TIME!!! driving around more than you had originally planned is part of the building process. im sure that he would have needed to go to the electronics store at least once within the next few weeks anyway. and i suppose it is possible that he may not know how to solder but this hobby has a way of introducing you new skills that you never knew you know how to do.
soldering isnt that hard and everyone should own a soldering iron for one thing or another.
hey dude i am on this kit special and fully support skully"s post and parts of everyones including yours hence im not taking sides im not here to argue. im well aware of the time it takes to put a pack together and learnt how to solder after getting into sabers and love learning new skills for proping. you started out trying to help the guy then you could have left it at that and not agreed that he was bitching and tried to bait him with your amen!!!. his beef was originally with the seller and it spirralled in to this, my FIRST post was not aimed at being personal to you just stating that there are costs involved which some people overlook, theres been plenty of talk about this on fx sabers were prices have gone up considerably.
