So I’m putting the final touches on my pack – isn’t everyone? – and wondered how people mount their Exoray light kits inside the pack and gun. I think I’ll hot glue the battery packs to the mobo (MMM’s aluminum) but wasn’t sure about the circuit boards. I want them secure inside but don’t know how to approach.
Any suggestions appreciated. Photos welcomed!
if you look on page 3 of exorays sound support thread,..you will see pictures i posted of his whole system mountedi n my pack…hot glue is the best way to go…

Also mine’s a scratch built so I don’t have the luxury of a roomy shell. I"ll have to figure where to place it.
no hot glue will not fry the board…way hotter things touch it like a soddering iron 
Although I would think you would want something that nice and expensive easily removable…
DON’T USE HOT GLUE! You will never get it out without damaging the board. Use a bit of nouse and patience. I used motherboard mounting screws, dowel and motherboard brass standoffs. Worked a treat and so easily removable if I ever need to.
This is the blue barograph. I have pieced of dowel with holes bored out in them, and a brass motherboard standoff glued in the hole inside the dowel.
For the main board I used 2 motherboard standoff glued to the motherboard of the pack. I then just screw the light circuit board into the standoffs. For the unsupported end I glued an eraser to the motherboard, just to stop Exorays board from overbending.
That picture of the blue lights is quite blurry. Anyone else have a decent suggestion? I want to mount the blue light bar into my pack but want to do it right.
Use industrial strength velcro. It certianly won’t go anywhere and you can move it easily should you wish to

I also used industrial velcro, which worked well, but the stand-offs and screws are a much better way. I’ll be doing that in my new build.
My question is:
How do you know for certain that what you have on the motherboard will fit exactly on the shell? What’s the method to do that?
You test fit everything a couple times before permanently attaching it. Pretty basic construction technique that should be obvious to anyone that has a hope of building a proton pack from purchased parts. You really need to find someone local to you that can help you in person.
