Hrm, I think I bid on the wrong frame! Doh

Here is just a little advice from my own experience, if you want accurate LC-1 frames and straps. If you do a broad search for just Alice packs (not frames) on Ebay you will find auctions where the frame and straps are included. Sure enough you will find that the Alice frame with straps is a real vintage LC-1, while they bag is brand new. If you know what to look for and ask the right questions using the NSN numbers as reference you can get the real vintage LC-1 frame and straps including the rare kidney pad with the turn buckle. I was lucky enough to get the guy to sell me just the frame and straps without the bag for a fraction of the “Buy it now” price. Good luck and happy hunting.

It really pays to do the research and ask questions before bidding or buying something. There are tons of sellers of military surplus that just use stock images. I was about to snag a frame with LC-1 straps and kidney belt but decided to ask about it first. It turned out to be LC-2.

Yup, the guys I was linked too were super helpful. Now just waiting for the items I ordered to get here and see how it looks

Well I got my package today.. Correct L-1 Frame. L-2 Straps and Kidney strap… booo.

If its a legit lc2 waist strap hold on to it. I let mine go with my first pack and have had trouble finding one since. The war has put alot of that stuff back into action.

I got the one I ordered from armynavydeals.com. Mine came with new style straps with a 3-prong buckle instead of a genuine LC-2 waist strap. Also the frame itself feels kinda flimsy compared to the LC-2 frame I have, so I definitely won’t be using it with my GB1 pack (it’s bound to end up wicked heavy).

My search continues for a real LC-1 frame…

Ill post some pics on tuesday when I’m off. All the reference pics I’ve seen all the straps appear to be genuine :LC-2. So I guess its not too big of a deal. Will have to go to the surplus stores around here for now and see if I can find the LC-1 straps and kidney.
