Well i got all excited while searching around ebay and came across a nice L-1 frame. So not looking at the details too much I bid on it.
I got to looking at it, and that is an L-2 frame not an L-1 isnt it ?

If I’m not mistaken the frames are the same, LC-1 to LC-2 its the straps that differ slightly, mainly the front buckle.
You are mistaken.
The LC-1 frame has a cross support that is spaced differently from the LC-2. The LC-2 protrudes farther.
yeah harder to see in that picture. I guess Ill have to see if I win it, I guess its not tooo big of a deal because it’s cheap and I wanted the Pack with it anyway.
The frames are very very similar, and only a true elitist would even notice.
I wouldn’t sweat it.
Problem is (and it was put really well by another member of this forum), most of the people listing A.L.I.C.E. Packs on eBay don’t seem to know the difference between a LC-1 set of straps and a LC-2 set of straps. The frame’s forgiveable, due to LC1 and LC2 frames being fairly identical, but the straps is less forgiveable.
However, if you are going for film accuracy, you will have to paint it black, as the frames in both filmes were black.
Yeah, Im going to hit up some surplus places around town, and the peddlers malls on my off days next week.
Painting shouldnt be too much of an issue if I have to.
Plus, LC-1 are easy to spot cuz they are BLACK.
Never buy from Allegheny Surplus. You never know what you will get, or in what condition it will be in.
I ordered what was pictured and described as black alice frames with green straps… they mailed me green frames with camo straps and then tried to tell me that was what was in the picture and it just “looked” like green straps. The description even clearly said black frames with green straps.

Needless to say they received a negative mark, and I got my money back… but it left a lot of people disappointed.

Thanks for the Link to the site, and the Coupon, I ended up ordering a leather vintage bag I thought was neat as well as my Frame, and Gloves from them.
I’ve actually ordered from them a few times now, and been happy with my purchase every time. I think we also got our pistol belts from them as well. (I order the newer heavy duty ones, which are inaccurate.) I ordered the white accurate belts just a few months ago, but I’m kind of missing the heavy belts for some reason.

I couldnt quite find an accurate one for GB 1 like I wanted though. I might get a set of one Heavy for comfort, and one accurate since they arent that costly
I can show you where I get my lc-1 waist straps when I get home from work. They are accurate except for plastic tightening clips but they look very close..
