I actually want to see some of the Slimer! cartoons. I know they get a bad rap, but I’ve never much shared the Slimer-hate that goes on around this and other boards. I don’t remember them being broadcast here in the UK.
For those that have seen them, are they good if you, say, view them in complete separation them from the rest of the series, or are they just plain rubbish like most people say? What other cartoon shows would you say they’re most similar to?
I imagine they wouldn’t even be good if you were subject to a Labotomy.
I’m rather thankful Citv decided not to air them and just concentrate on the Ghostbusters side of things.
on the DVD set, I believe they’re compared more to the style of Looney Tunes or Tex Avery. It is a good idea to go into them if you’re looking for some wacky silliness. It’s what they wanted to do with them. I might give a few more of them a chance, you really just have to be in the mood and prepare yourself for them not having anything to do wth Ghostbusters really.
I agree with what Zack said (as per usual) and I’ll just add my experience. I’ll say that I had never seen them and had always heard how God awful they were. That said, since I was expecting basically the worst thing ever, they really weren’t that bad. I mean it’s definitely crap compared to RGB but for what it is, I think it’s fine. Also, while I can watch several RGB episodes in a row, I can only watch like 1 or maybe 2 of those at a time otherwise my brain starts to go numb. I definitely don’t see watching them again until I have kids but again, in my opinion, they’re not as bad as people say. I’d probably give them a 3.5 out of 10 and I was expecting a 0 out of 10 so I was pleasantly surprised I guess ha ha.
don’t even torture your kids with them. Even as a kid, I thought they were crap.
It’s actually myself I’ll be “torturing”…I’m still some way off having kids of my own 
(unless you count my nieces and nephews…)
I’m still waiting to build up the courage to watch those episodes.
I never did like it when they transitioned to this REALLY weird and bubbly cartoon style, however if we’re on the subject of Slimer! and the Real Ghostbusters. I am a huge fan of Dweeb and love how much more he was explored.
as a kid, i hated the episodes with dweeb because he was so annoying. why didnt he just ask the ghostbusters for a ghost out of the CU? he and the ghostbusters wanted the same thing…research. screw dweeb and screw slimer cartoons. it just isnt the same without all 4 of the ghostbusters.
don’t you guys think that your being a little hard on the slimer cartoons? i mean sure they may seem a little childish but nowadays i prefer them over the ■■■■ their showing on stations like nick or cartoon network.
