The reaction to Kate’s look in the new movie is pretty awesome, I’m not going to lie. I love her look, I love her body language and her apparent attitude that we will see in the movie. She’s single-handedly changed the minds of a handful of people I know who weren’t excited for the reboot.

I’m going to use this thread for references on all the pieces of her outfit. Yep, I intend on trying to make her entire look. Both outfits we have seen so far. Since the thread pertains to the reboot I figured it belongs here. If not please let me know- I’ll delete it and move it.

Outfit one:

Painters overalls- blue/gray

Leather jacket

Wilson Welding Goggles- yellow ( I found a pair of these on ebay, bought that sh*t so quick…)

Black combat boots- simple enough, I own them for my original suit anyways.

Brown/Tan/RED? fingerless gloves

That necklace- no idea what’s on it- anyone have any ideas?

One knee high black and white striped sock, and a regular normal black one.

I love this girl- she doesn’t wear matching socks. NEITHER DO I! It’s lucky to have mismatched socks. You know- unless you have a job interview.

Outfit two:

The Jumpsuit

I notice that her and Wiigs jumpsuits have pockets on the sides instead of in the front like the others.

That giant yellow light doesn’t look like it’s even on the car.. At this angle it looks like it’s behind it.. Weird :slight_smile:

If it helps, her leather jacket is commonly known as a Brando. Its based on Brandos from the Wild One. There are many variations on it.

But if you ebay Brando jacket you’ll find one easy as pie.

Since Leslie and Melissa are bigger ladies (particularly around the hips), I think having the pockets on the front instead of the sides was simply a design variation to look more flattering on them.

I’m excited for this movie. I’m excited for the girl cast. I love what they are doing.

But those outfits are the farthest thing from flattering on larger women. Jumpsuits are hard to make “more flattering” :frowning:

I agree though- pockets on the side would have made it worse.

That aside- I’m still excited! :smiley: :cool:

They have the side pockets as well. Looks like front pockets were added.

To me, she is the best of the bunch. Just pulls off that egon/geeky/cyberpunk look. Absolutely fantastic.

Before you possibly go dropping $150 on that, I’m pretty sure that’s not the exact jacket. It’s pretty damn close, but if you check the diagonal chest zipper, the one in the movie is more horizontal whereas this one is more vertical. I noticed because the coat on amazon has the zipper pretty much pointing at the small pocket on the front, but the one in the film doesn’t.

That’s the problem with Brando’s. They’re all so similar, but not all exact.

That’s definitely closer, but the “faux leather” aspect throws me off. I’m pretty sure Kate’s is real leather, judging by the distressing. EDIT: I read some reviews on “Emaans” other items, and they’re all pretty crappy reviews. Thin weak material, overpriced, not real leather so on and so forth.

her jacket certainly looks like heavy leather. Either way, the link I posted is an exact match for pockets, straps, misc details, etc.
