Man, the 12 inch Venkman (caught myself before I said ‘Peter’ there) looks really good compared to the other guys, IMO. I might have to get that one. The Egon and Ray 12 inch figures creeped me out.
Since they are just going to reuse headsculpts on the commercial labcoat figures, and reuse the same body as well, I’d rather see them release a three pack for $50. I might buy into that, but $100 including shipping for the three commercial figures? No way.
As far as disapointed? They are releasing one figure every 3 months average now…yer looking at 9 months worth of figures in that shot.
I’ve always thought they were making the pant legs far too short on the 12 " figures… Peter’s 12" figure with the pant legs out proves that very well.. they seriously need to redo the pant legs for peter’s 12" figure at least, or do the pattern for both him and Winston.
This pic is hard to see but looks like they slimed the unslimed version of pete.
These figures look fantastic… The slime on Venkman is a little different than Spengler was (which is good, cuz you can see it easier), but its also bad, cuz the color just doesn’t look right. Seems like a bit of a cop-out to include a Slimer figure again and just add a tongue.
I absolutely love that new Ray figure, though. That’s just awesome. Glad to see that they have some new figures being prepped.
I think the problem with the pack ins are coming with the fact that there weren’t that many ghosts in the movies that were small enough…
I am somewhat excited, I like Slimed Venkman but agree, the slime before on the Slimed Venkman they showed before looked a bit more natural but I like the face on this one a lot. I definitely will have to get 12 inch Peter now, my wallet will hate me but he looks too good to pass up.
Not to BITCH I’m 100% happy to see movie style Ghostbusters figures finally. But Matty Collector is not doing the best job and very slow about release dates. I mean the new lab coat Ray looks like a Kenner toy from 1992, just go look at some Batman toys with trench coats from the early 90’s. The proton packs on the 6"ers are too small for there backs as well by about 1" short.
The 12" dolls are pretty good but man a better face could have been sculpted for both Ray and Egon.
I would have like to seen Neca, McFarlane do the 6" and maybe even do 18" figure with Sideshow or Hot Toys to do something cool for the dolls. That would be cool?
Just wish Matty would try a little harder, not that I’m not buying them all ways…I do love ghostbusters.
I hear where you’re coming from, but I’ll still pick it up primarily for the sniffer and the ghost. Still… I’ve got to say it’s kind of a boring variant. GB2 uniforms or courtroom battle GB’s would have been more interesting than lab coats in my opinion. This may be the closest thing we get to a civilian Ray though.
Ray looks cool, wish they would have included the ecto-goggles though. They should have been included in his first 6" figure in the jumpsuit.
Venkman looks out of place. The slime is too green and cartoony. The promo shot we saw of him earlier looked more like the slime he had in the movie. Kinda dissapointed by that, which sucks.
Peck looks good as does the unit, and it’s great that it comes with a trap. Maybe that’s why the had to move him back, too include the traps.
The slime on the 6" Venkman looks like pea soup! Bleh! Why would the colour be different from the slime we saw on the 6" Spengler? They both come with Slimer as the pack-in ghost, so shouldn’t the colour of the slime (I’m assuming it came from Slimer) be the same on both figures?
Alright, I’m nit-picking. But I don’t really like the colour of that slime. :sigh:

No gripes here!..Well the same 4 small ones on the standard 6“ figures but I have long since overlooked those discrepancies…

A bit of a weak showing i think. 2 new figures shown. Waiting months in between is hard enough, not having much to look forward too doesn’t always help. I don’t think we will ever get the love that MOTU gets. Peter looks good, and Ill buy that ray though I’m not super super excited about spending $30 on it. Can’t tell if Ray has a new head. It looks a bit fuller than the last one, but the last one’s prototype was also fuller before production.
Peters gloved hands look ok but i think they should have sculpted new forearms with the back of the glove over the sleeve, and kept the hand/joint the same. But then they wouldn’t be able to reuse the forearm so oh well.
I still feel bad complaining because I’m still on the “I can’t believe we have ghostbuster movie toys” high.
Now that I see that Slimed Peter has gloves on, I’m gonna wait and see if they’ll do gloved, unslimed variants of the guys in the future. Give Ray some Ecto-Goggles, Egon his PKE meter, etc. and we’re good to go.
I still find it sad that my first figure will be Peck, though. At least he’ll come with a spare trap and the CU!
So in the 8 months since SDCC, they’ve come with…lab coat Ray?? Really? Wow, that sucks.
Peter looks good, and I dig the subway ghost, but thats about it.

We have nothing, for many years- until along comes a small outfit from Canada (88mph) [regardless of the outcome], Neca and suddenly a resurgence from the wings with Sony reaching out… something to show the love to the franchise (and to pulse the interest)…
… yes, there are criticisms to be handed down, but hand them down politely.
I am not singling any one individual out - and not specifically in this thread - we have all been down the road before with 88 and the fiasco, even though there product brought the best of the franchise together and listened, heavily, to the fan base… let’s see where this takes us.
The quality is better than (almost) any of us could do - the toy makers actually listened to the fan base too, reaching out and asking for comments / suggestions… all of which culminate in what we are seeing now…
Of course, we could all go back to just discussing the movies and props. And complaining of why no toys.
It’s a bit hard to see, but it looks to me like the main piece of peck’s trap can separate from the handle, to properly recreate the containment unit loading sequence. See those little tabs where the hinges were? Don’t the doors look like they aren’t quite pushed all the way down into the frame of the trap? Am I just crazy?

I’m happy to see that Pete’s hands are gloved, but a bit disappointed to realize they are probably just hands painted black. I would have loved to see some sort of “cuff” around the wrist to make it look more like the gloves they wear…
I’m just really upset at how the 12" Peter & Winston don’t appear to have any special accessories. This isn’t anything to look forward to, this means that the last two 12" figures will both be the same exact thing except for the head sculpt and name. :-x
