Matty Customer Service Issues

Hello my friends,

I received an email from Matty yesterday saying that my club ecto membership had been cancelled, without me doing so. I called the Customer no-service line and spoke with a gentleman that barely spoke English and tried to explain to him that I did not initiate the subscription cancellation and that I want it re-instated. Apparently what had happened was that my courtroom peter figure went to the wrong address so it was sent back to them and that warranted my subscription being cancelled automatically. The gentleman on the phone told me that I would just have to go online and re-subscribe to the club, obviously he has no knowledge of how this works and that there is no way to do such a thing. Forty-five minutes later I finally spoke with a supervisor who basically told me that she isn’t sure if she can re-instate the subscription and gave me a ticket number and told me to wait a few days for them to contact me.

I was wondering if anyone else out there has had to go above and beyond with Matty to get something accomplished and If there is anyway to contact someone actually at Matty who knows about these products/subscriptions, who doesn't live in the middle-east, who speaks English, and has probably seen Ghostbusters? Any help would be grateful, if not at least it was good to get it off my chest.

Thanks!

I had the same issues when the PKE meters were shipped. People were getting shipping information before I did. A friend of mine ordered his 5 days after I did and he got his shipment confirmation they day they started to ship. I didn’t get mine until 4 days after he did. When I called and complained, all they said they could do is contact Mattel, see what the issue is, and get back with me. It would take them 3-4 days. Sad thing is the people who you talked to was called Digital River, not Mattel. They are the middle man for Mattel. You call them, report a issue, then they contact mattel via email, wait for a response, then they email you back a generic email.

Needless to say I didn’t hear back from Digital River until after my PKE meters have arrived. The best part was the day after I got my PKE meters, they sent a email to me saying that they are sorry for the delay and do not have any information regarding my shipment information. As soon as they have the tracking info, they will email me.

The only good thing I can say about Digital River is when my PKE meters did arrive, I was missing two of them. So I reported two of them missing and they said it could take up to 30 days before I get a response pending the investigation. Well by day 22, I had a nice package from UPS with 2 replacement PKE meters.

Hope it works out for you.

Any of you guys who are in Club Ecto get “renewal notices” from Matty today? Mine says it’s a “Club Eternia” renewal that will go through automatically “soon” - I was under the impression that it only went into effect in January - why would it be renewed already?

Yep got mine, better not get any “She-man” action figures from it.

I also got an E-mail saying my club enterina subscription expired. This better not mess up Ray and Zull/Louis!!

I got one of those emails too. Does that affect us?

I got the same email calling it club eternia.I think by “renewing” they mean your gonna get billed for the next figure, thereby “renewing” your subscription.

Could be - I don’t think I got one of those before the last Venkman figure came - just a shipping notice. Maybe it’s just because of the MM Ray?

Its because they are gonna charge you again for the next figure.

I thought that might be the case, but the wording is a bit strange in their email.

My Email said Club Eternia as well, I’ll be very pissed off if I get He-Man figures instead of Ghostbusters.

Their email is very mixed up.

For example I had no idea why it wanted me to go to “FindMyOrder.com”… I thought it was fake.

Mine asked me to go to that site too.

I got the club eternia email, emailed them back and they responded:

Dear Alan F Martinez,

Thank you for contacting the MattyCollector.com online store.

We have verified that your subscription is for 2011 Club Ecto and no

other subscriptions were found under your account. Please disregard the

notification email with regards to the Club Eternia Subscription.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

so I guess we are good.

That’s great, I guess I’ll just disregard that Email then.

Yeah, that set off my warning flags as well. For all the cool stuff they’re doing and for their status as the largest toy company in the world, Mattycollector sure comes off as a little rinkydink sometimes.

I think part of the problem is Digital River (their billing company) has:

It seems like 99% of the problems stem from Digital River. Not sayng Matty is prefect either, just seems like the majority of problems stem from thier billing company.

Digital River literally handles almost everything with MattyCollector.

All Mattel does is handle content.

Great… cant wait to start ordering from them…

speaking of Matty, I got an email last week telling me that my Club Eternia subscription was going to automatically renew soon. the only problem with that is that Ive never been subscribed to Club Eternia in my life. I bought a subscription to Club Ecto, but that shouldnt renew until this summer. I guess I’ll just keep an eye on my bank account and see if there are any suspicious withdrawls from Matty…
