So I was planing on using some tax time money to buy one of his un-assembled DIY kits and finally have a pack not made out of core-board and wishes. I’m taking it from this thread that would be a bad idea?

Wow, what a jerk. Thanks for saving me from making a big mistake. I’ll have to look around and see if there is a more reputable dealer that sells a similar kit.
Well Deka, I know Nick-a-Tron sells a pack kit with top grade parts that aren’t recasted. His semi hero shell looks fantastic, and he’s a great guy to deal with to boot. I was unfortunate enough to have bought one of slob bob’s kits without having done any homework on the guy by using these forums for advice. I’m a noob to prop building, yet even with my untrained eye, I could tell I got hosed once I had his “kit” in hand. Make sure to use the forums, ask the guys who know whats what, and do your research, it’ll save you time, money, and head aches.
So I watched his video on YouTube with his pack and the Matty Wand. VideoBlob has reached a new low as far as i’m concerned. but I did have one question. He goes out of his way to point out that the wand, goggles, trap, and PKE work together and have animations you can see in the googles.
I know the PKE and the goggles work togther, but has anyone seen if the wand works with the goggles? I haven’t seen anything (could have missed it) from Mattel that states they work together. I’ve only heard of the crossing streams thing.
If this is the true, couldn’t a case be made that he is producing false advertisements?

The wand does actually activate the “proton stream” on the goggles. As much as I despise this guy.
How exactly did you get it to just do the stream? The best I was able to achieve was having it set of the librarian ghost then the stream, and that was with my wand pretty close to my goggles.
It did go through the Librarian/proton stream part, but then it did another proton stream on its own. Keep in mind I was holding them really close because the speaker on the thrower sucks so bad.

I never understood the beef with him… that was until reading from you guys. Then one day I was watching pawn stars, and this walking turd comes in the shop wanting to sell one of his packs. He was asking $3500. I was like whaaat they are not even that much on his site. What really got me madwas they haggled him down to $1050. Im thinking WOW, so he will so he will sell a pack that cheap to them, but not to your everyday consumer? No worries I see it as hustlers got hustled. I will never buy from him. Btw you guys rock.
In all honesty the transactions on Pawn Stars are almost all completely fabricated by the producers of the show. Very little about that show isn’t scripted or set up in some way and I highly doubt that Bob guy actually even sold that pack to them. I’m sure the whole thing was just a promotional stunt so he could get on TV. I’m new here, but considering what you guys have said about him I’m guessing he wouldn’t be above a shameless stunt like being on Pawn Stars to “sell” his “pack.”
Unfortunately it seems he actually did sell his pack to them. It has been seen in later episodes.
