Muppets Proton Pack builds (D-42 & Cen)

Hey there,

I’ve never build a pack before, so im attempting to build 2!

1 for myseld and 1 for my son

Was considering a scaled down pack for him, but he is tall for his age and he will grow into it in no time. So i went with a D-42 shell, to keep the weight down to a minimum.

So here is the ABS pack parts

Its a great help that there is a mark as a guide for cutting. I used it as a guide, but just added a little buffer

remember that it is a guide.

Once i was happy with the basic fit ( i used my al mobo as a guide)

[![image](http://www.gbfans.com/images/pb/seymour_76/ghostbuster build_th_IMG_2515.jpg)](http://www.gbfans.com/images/pb/seymour_76/ghostbuster build_?action=view&current=IMG_2515.jpg)

I then rivited the 2 pieces together

[![image](http://www.gbfans.com/images/pb/seymour_76/ghostbuster build_th_IMG_2528.jpg)](http://www.gbfans.com/images/pb/seymour_76/ghostbuster build_?action=view&current=IMG_2528.jpg)

I then sanded it down with the pieces together and after a little while i was happy with the fit

[![image](http://www.gbfans.com/images/pb/seymour_76/ghostbuster build_th_IMG_2527.jpg)](http://www.gbfans.com/images/pb/seymour_76/ghostbuster build_?action=view&current=IMG_2527.jpg)

Im using a sheet of ABS for the mobo and used traced around the shell

[![image](http://www.gbfans.com/images/pb/seymour_76/ghostbuster build_th_IMG_2529.jpg)](http://www.gbfans.com/images/pb/seymour_76/ghostbuster build_?action=view&current=IMG_2529.jpg)

but i suffed up, and will replace it with the correct mobo shape.

Now onto my pack- there were a couple of cracks and soft spots, so im re-inforcing those areas

Thats it for now, hoping for some more free time next weekend

MOD EDIT: Edited formatting for readability.

9 months later, decided i’d better finish off the packs.

Couple of minor tweaks, and they’re done.

So you are here Muppet.. Good to see a fellow Spec Ops member… Your builds looks great… you really making me consider getting a VAC Shell, since no one is getting back to me about a Pack!

Very cool, you did a great job not just on the packs but on your sons uniform too. Outstanding!

They look good. I used the same vacformed shell for my first pack I made. I was really happy with how it turned out.

Thanks guys,

Im really impressed with the D-42’s ABS shell. If the son doesnt want to wear it, i’ll save my back and take his

First outing with packs
