My Extreme Ghostbusters Proton Pack

Hey guys, though I’m kinda new, I’ve been on this sight for a while, just never posted anything lol. But my summer project this year was my Extreme Ghostbusters proton pack. First let me say I spent alot of time getting this as accurate to the show as possible. I watched half of the series over and the first 3 episode about 4 times each. The first and second episode shows the most detail in the proton packs and the second episode ( I think, may be third…) even show egon’s original blue prints and design of the new pack~! (while roland was the one who built them) I spent alot of time watching the show and noting down every detail i could from the show.

After all that work, I sketched up my own plans and even labels for the pack ( I’ll be sure to post my completed extreme GB Proton Pack Plans and Labels), and it’s (for the most part) complete~! All the different Real Ghostbusters packs on here, yet almost no Extreme GB packs, So I set out for the impossible~! (XD lol )

Theres still little things that need to be added (knobs n buttons), but here is ( In my opinion)

THE MOST ACCURATE EXTREME GHOSTBUSTERS PACK EVER BUILT~!

I even wanted to put proper lights and sounds, but something went wrong with my circuit boards… if I ever get them to work, I’ll put lights and sound in too~

(oh just for note too, the only thing I messed up on was that I made the main 2 boxes of the pack (Maini Particle Enhancer (MPE) and the Modified Cyclotron with Heat Exhaust (MCHE? lol) width too wide ( about an inch to an inch and a half too wide~

…but it still looks good for a first prototype~))

That’s pretty awesome. Nicest EGB Pack I’ve seen yet

This came out very nice.

Very nicely done!! I’d like to see some more pictures of it complete, like a direct front and side views…and the gun! Great job!

Thanks everyone, and for those interested, here is my gallery, it has all of the pic from when I first started to finish. the gun still needs a tiny bit of work~

<3

I think ima tackle this as well.

This is looking very very accurate.

Maybe I willl scale it down a bit. But recently after building lotsa props outta paper and cardboard.

I can for sure do this.

But yah, ima prolly throw some fibreglass resin over it to toughen it up.

Or build it with some other material. Who knows.

I look foward to seeing more.

It’s hard to believe this is just a prototype!

Nice! She is a big one.

Quite nice. And it’s always good to see the odder “variant” proton packs produced. can’t wait to see the wand/gun.

Hey Everyone, it’s been a while, I’m finally posting the rest of the pics. Here is the finished version of the pack:

I did ALOT of work on the proton gun (funny thing though, after I finished making it I started back watching more episodes of the series, and I noticed that my gun is “flipped” horizontally, (left is right and right is left,) but then again some episodes show it opposite like the way I have it, and the toy is opposite like I have it, so it’s kinda confusing XD (I like my detail lol ) so enjoy and tell me what you think, I had to custom make ALOT of parts for the gun to come out right, and everything even works like in the show~! (without lights and sound though <.<; )

Never really cared for the EGB proton pack. I guess im more traditional

I really like it! Odds are you can find some cheap halloween lightup items to easily add some lights to it.

Nice pack man! You really inspired me and I’m definitely keeping your pack in mind when I start building my own. I personally like all the packs (movie, cartoons, games) because they’re not all a like. Keep up the good work.

Hey what did you make for the canisters?

For the canisters I used Soda Cans and PVC piping, it worked out pretty dang well if you ask me~

Hmmm… I’ve always want to be different and not the same as everyone else, so I’m showing some interest in building one myself… but using something more durable, like plastic or fiberglass mold, though the cardboard trick is an easy and fast way to go for this build, since the design isn’t too complex as the original and traditional PP… and not everyone has one! It would make a nice addition to the first and more popular pack.

Though, the short of the thrill on this version is, it is not as eye-catching nor complex-looking as the OPP ( not enough hardware or “gadgets” on it to brand it to be a technical marvel, the "Gun"resembles what you use for spraying bugs in your garden, the Silver color sceme is indeed different, but just doesn’t jive for a proton pack). So, being that this one particular pack is not exactly in co-exist as to the movie versions, even the animated RGB pack, I’m going to paint it black, and subduely but nicely jazz it with indicator lights strategicly placed where they should or make sense to be. Like, instead the three cooling pipes or radiator at the bottom of the pack being plain, I’ll change them into ion tubing where you can see the energy flowing through them, or “Fluxing” almost like Doc Brown’s Flux compassitor. Ha, ha… people will really know where I’m going… just follow the “fluxing rear end”! lol…

The only thing I’m really not peas in a pod with is that EGB ghost trap… that thing looks like a tannish turtle on a leash with only three legs! :whatever:

Good show though, mate! I admire someone who takes a different path… I myself sometimes move to the beat of a different drum, too!

Props to you!
