My First Pack..

So I started working on my first pack. It may seem a bit early but I really need mine ready by the first weekend in October.

I opted to go a more custom route due to a combination of factors, budget, skill, and time. I also wanted to have a thrower that looked more like a gun. Anyway here are the pictures of my work in process.

This will be modified to look more appropriate.

I also found this gun, I found it interesting and I’m thinking about making it into a slime gun.

Hmm, interesting! I’m always in support of doing what you can with what you have! I’ll be interested to see the finished product.

Don’t know how to post videos in threads, but anyways here is a video of my pack with a coat of paint, more pieces secured and the start of lights. The second half of the video is my proton gun.

Edited to add video link

to post any youtube video here on the forums, copy the youtube address but only the letters that appear after the “=” sign, then paste them into the youtube code here

code looks like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=

the bolded part is what you want to copy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lp5cn_UCJZQ

Thank you not only for explaining that but also for doing it. Just in case there is any doubt, that is a genuine compliment.

I was going to post the thumb but since it isn’t up I can’t tell if it is really a thumbs up or some sort of sarcastic thumbs up.

Got my alice frame in the mail last night, got it attached to my pack today. Here are some photos still some work to do.

Its getting there… how many real parts did you buy to make this pack? just the standard alice frame so far seems to be it

Real parts would be the Alice frame, a truspec flight suit (it’s in the mail) and a no ghost patch I got off ebay. The outfit is my work scrubs and not part of the costume, I just got so excited to attach the pack to the frame that I didn’t change clothes.

However like I said in the first post I wasn’t going for movie accurate. Since most of my friends around here aren’t real big ghost busters fans they’ll get the idea.

My pack after some more work, lights have been replaced with a strobe set from Big Lots

Wow Vinny, Im surprised u actually helped someone out without bashing them… Your so Kind!

So I’ve been rethinking my stance on the thrower. After reading more of the post here and getting a feel for the site I’ve realized that the militarization of Ghostbusting equipment is a bit off. So I did some more research saw a thrower design I thought I could pull off in the thread, http://www.gbfans.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=11599, and more specifically irricanian’s thrower.

Now irricanian’s thrower is a mighty bit finer than mine, but if I didn’t acknowledge my inspiration I’d be a detriment to the hobby.

First the pack close to completion

Next some shots of my thrower

Now for the next part, I know this isn’t a PKE thread but I feel bad about making another thread. I used the PKE App that I believe one of the members here made, in the thread two people talk about the app but I can’t figure out who made it, since one seemed to have been letting people download it and another had it in the app store. I got mine from the app store.

Anyways I built a shell for my ipod touch out of foam core.

The lights around the edge can flash at two different speeds or stay on.

That looks great!

I love the idea you had with the PKE meter using the iphone app.

Keep up the good work and I can’t wait to see it all finished.

My complete outfit, sure it’s not 100% movie accurate but my friends and family loved it last night. Like I said I needed it for an event at the begining of the month. I took all the younger kids at the family reunion ghost hunting for little stuffed ghost.
