My new pack....

Hmm voltage divider not producing enough current. Going to try a voltage regulator instead.

Be carful with a regulator they can have voltage spikes I hear. Don’t wanna fry all that hard work.

Hoping a capacitor across the supply will sort that out mate. Thanks for the heads up tho!

Really struggling to find a uk source for a suitable replacement for the v hook. I have tried to find flush plates and dixie cup hooks but so far no success. Any advice?

no had much time on the pack recently, but here is the latst build. Quite happy with the booster frame (amazing what a couple of skewers/mdf and a stanley knife can do lol

gettiong there, bumper now 1/2 done too

Nice one! Don’t worry about the ‘uneven holes on the N-filter’ though…the original prop makers didn’t either  the only criticism I have is the width of tube from the spacer to crank gen. I know you’re not going full on accurate but it looks maaaaaassssssive! Great job nonetheless and totally recognizable as a proton pack.

Cheers dude, started off going for accuracy, but a mixture of UK sizing, cost of delivery from us, My ■■■■■■ DIY skills amongst others has made me move toward a it will do approach lol. It will be used for parties and fkn about and other than me no one will know that i am a half cm out here or there lol.

woohooo, voltage reg works a treat! and put the capacitors across the supply to cater for spikes. The only thing I have not done which I probably should is put in a diode to guarantee the direction of flow. so my electronics now are:

12V supply to feed:

eventual sound board

9v regulator

said 9v regulator to feed:

power cell

cyclotron

gun

5v regulator

5v regulator to feed

PICAXE chip for firing lights and and gun bar.

sorted!

Sadly i am becoming disillusioned with my pack, starting to look very amature. Struggling for motivation to finish tbh. None the less hete is the current state.

Don’t be disillusioned man, its coming along great. Keep up the good work, it will look completely different when its all together and weathered nicely.

Thats a nice looking pack! Keep going!!

+1

cheers guys, been having a ■■■■■■ time of it recently and was using build as a way of a distraction then when the build started looking dodgy thought i might jack it in, will soldier on tho, too close to stop now.

Yeah, I don’t know what you were worried about. It looks pretty good from this end.

Well all must have said somethong right as I have been back at it today, first attempt at a grip with nothing more than a piece of redwood and a stanley knife. Happy with it as a trial run

Cheers again fellas (or lassies as the case may be)

Grip looks awesome. Can’t wait to see a finished set

OWWWWWWW making my 2nd grip and my thumb lost an argument with my stanley!!! ARGHHH!!!

Perhaps go get stitches instead of jumping on the internet to tell us about it? Just a thought!
