stitches would be a bit of a unnecessary move, lrge plaster and beer will do lol
Noooooooooo! Got my valves from nick today, and thought I had followed the gun plans to the letter, but alas the.base.of the valve is about 4mm bigger than that bit of the gun body! ■■■■ TO MY CUTTING!
Having a problem. Got my stuff from Nick but its jot painting well. Much of the paint is receding leaving big unpaintable patches. However the one valve by happy coincidence has turned out to look like old distressed metal
The other looks like the problem
Any adice and thoughts welcomed
Did you wash the parts 1st?
d’oh nope - stoopid stoopid!!!
cant decide if I like the distressed look of the 1st and should leave it or paint it black to be accurate.
The 2nd doesnt have that. Any way back for it do you think Nick?
Heres what id do.
Give them both a good scrub with warm water and washing up liquid. Then respray them both with primer. Spray them totally black then once thats dry (and i mean overnight dry) mask off the body abd spray the tops silver.
cheers dude.
will get onto this tonight ![]()
Not the end of the world if they dont turn out ok, i can always send replacements.
will let you know,
but either way they will still be the best looking bit on my pack lol
Personally, I kind of like the distressed metal look of the one Clippard. Would definitely give a unique characteristic to your pack as well.
Awsome! Glad I could help
Now lets see her finished!!
ahhh ■■■■■! apart from a few little things my pack is now done (still have bar graph in thower to finish and a few minor tweaks to pack) So tonight I thought this is it, acid test! lifted with frame for the first time…no problems. Lifted with just straps… no problems, was all excited now! put it on my back…no problems. Reached for thrower…■■■■■■ CANT REACH THE THING! then after I put it down I noticed that my dale resistor had fallen off GRRR!
woo hoo, only 2 LEDs away from the finish line. Did a complete gun rewire last night damn I now hate soldering!
A very VERY nice scratch-build! What’s the overall weight? (I ask 'cause my scratchbuild is mostly wood too, and it’s definitely taking it’s toll on my back!) Looks great, though-- and believe me, all thoughts of it looking ‘amateur’ go away when you start putting the labels and brass bits and (applicable) weathering on it!
:crunch:
thanks FossilizedArt! much appreciated! No idea of the overall weight yet but it hasn’t given me a hernia…yet!
will keep pics coming, although struggling to find suitable acrylic tube over here.
p.s. very jealous of you location, was in NY in 1998 and is my most favorite place!

NOOOO!!! I think the postman knocked over my pack in the shed and has damaged it - THE FKR!!! ARGHH!!!
What was he doing in your shed? ![]()
where I live if you are not home the postman leaves a parcel where he can (in an open window, in the shed in the wheelie bin etc..) this time I think he got curious and arsed about with my pack and knocked it over. can never prove it though. no happy all the same
