My new trap (pic intensive)

My new Ghost trap purchased on Ebay from a gentleman named “in2znite”. Bought it because this was the prop I looking forward to building the least and wanted to concentrate my efforts on the 2 packs I want to have completed by june.

Not completely accurate. The handle is obviously too large, but this thing is sturdy as hell. I’ve already had this thing accidentally fall off the kitchen counter to the floor and there surprisingly wasn’t a scratch.

Lights turn on when trap doors are open

Outside cycling lights activated by rear switch.

My only major complaint about the trap is this obvious gap between the trap doors. I’m going to make some additional painted wood strips to glue inside the trap to cover the gap.

I’ve seen those around on e-bay for awhile, but you’re the first to have posted pics of one here on this site I think. The vector plate on the side of the trap, what’s that made out of? Looks like it’s folded.

The vector plate appears to be a sheet of styrene that has been scored and folded like an accordion. A bizarre yet strangely appealing touch, IMO.

Where’d you get the round knob on the side with the gold resistor and heat sink?

No idea where the parts came from. Trap was purchased on eBay.

in the last picture the trap door has a crack by the hinge area, you might want to insert some epoxy in there before it gets worse

Yeah ive got one too there SHIT to put it in one word, A greedy seller on ebay selling crap props also i have also had pointed out to me all his ebay pics are taken from afar,

Elwood

im sure above all thats the best technique in “selling” on ebay..

lighting, distance and angle can make %500 difference in the appearance of a final product.

what electronics stuff did u use for the lights ?

That is shit!

To think I just saw somebody drop $275.00 on one!

why is this here? when you did nothing but purchase it?

So let me get this straight PC,if a person purchases a prop, they then have no right to show it off to other fans?

I’m starting to get tired of your rude remarks in almost every topic you post in.

i thought this was a “i built this” or “im working on this” type of community. where, we would show off our works rather than what we just bought.

im sorry, let me congratulate him for purchasing a trap that 75 percent of the people in this topic boasted is garbage and was paid too much for.

The last time I checked, there wasn’t a rule about this only being a you can only post shit that you built.

If that’s the case then we need to get AJ to remove over half of the user’s and their posts on here because most everyone(myself included) have bought a prop or kit.

lets play chicken. im flagging this.

Did it ever cross your mind that he might have posted this here so people can see what they are getting when they buy from this seller? Post like this HELP the community so that people don’t end up getting ripped off again, that you can see the quality before commiting to buy. Some people may see these pics and decide not to buy where as others who are not overly concerned on screen accuracy and need something quick, will aid them in their decision in buying it. There have been PLENTY of similar posts for people buying their props, just off the top of my head, Joe Kerezaman costumes, ghostbuster patches. People here want to help one another in getting the best for their buck and there’s a good sense of that here that people want to help each other in living out their dreams of being ghostbusters, these posts only help in doing that, so stop acting like a jerk.

Wow look at that, someelse thinks you are acting like a jerk,go figure.

I think ProtonCharger is the most level headed guy on the board. His comments are usually the exact thing I’m thinking.

Just FYI this post helped me out b/c I had seen these traps and thought about purchasing one but then again where’s the fun in that? So I didn’t and now I’m glad I didn’t.
