N-Filter red stripe

Got a question in regard to rendering the red stripe on the N-filter and I’m seeking advice: What’s the best way to render this?

Would a sticker be advisible because it’d be easy to apply and have nice, crisp edges, or would paint be the way to go because it’ld be permanent?

i used automotive pinstriping tape, its nice crisp and rather permanent.

Im not sure where to direct you to find it across the pond though

The screen used packs use pin striping.

If you don’t wanna do that

two strips of Painters tape to make a clean line and spray away

That was the alternate way I figured it could be done.

Thanks for the advice, guys.

I used red electrical tape

the thing about the pinstriping is that you can get the right size and its really easy to apply.

Or you could just pour this all over the n-filter. No masking required.

Wait, did I completely misinterpret the title? LOL

I first painted my n-filter red. You dont really have to do the whole thing, just the top portion where the stripe will be. Then once dry put a rubber band of a decent width around the n-filter, where the stripe yould be. Then go over it with your black paint as needed. Once dry remove the rubber band and underneaqth will be a relativly striaght red line if placed correctly. i’ve done it several times and gotten very nice results.

That’s the only red stripe people should be interested in on a Saturday!

I masked off the black and brushed on red paint. Ended up doing enough layers that when I took the mask off the red paint was noticeably raised above the black.

I printed out a red stripe on sticker paper, cut it out and Bob’s your uncle!

and fat spleef FTW

I masked off the areas I didnt want painted and left about 1/4" exposed where i wanted the red stripe then I used red model paint. Three coats and about 6 hours to dry between each and it works out perfectly. Just be sure to pull off the masking tape slowly to avoid the paint pulling off.
