Among all the Ghostbusters fans and cosplayers out there, I’m wondering if there is precedent for including a first initial on the name patch. Having recently tied the knot, I need to update my wife’s uniform, but I’m trying to decide if we should stick with our now-mutual last name on each or if we should differentiate by adding our first initials. Since there aren’t any examples that I know of in GB canon, I’m looking for input from any couples/siblings/families/etc. that may have considered this.
The shared surname would dovetail neatly with the old standard of just having the surname, but nametags, like most elements of the uniform, are as flexible as you’d like, so you can put down J. SURNAME if you wished. 
Don’t see why not. Mine is my cosplay name instead of my last name.
