name tags......

here i gave u some picture to see the diference of the tags

first gb1

GB2

the first name tag is more bigger than the other

and i have a question what color is gb flight suit??

Tan in gb 1 and charcoal in gb 2

and, as I’d like to make the gb2 one, has it the same name of the first? I mean, is it the sfngksjdkr-something flight suit? the color changes only, does it? :frowning:

I’m pretty sure it’s the same type, if you look at the collar and zipper arrangements, they appear the same, so yeah, I think they are. I’m going for gb1 stuffs, so yeah.

you are talking about the suit or the tag??

If its the suit it is the same, but the material they were made out of is different, the ones in GB II were a thicker material, used for winter (as GB II took place in the Christmas-New Year’s season) The nametags are basically the same, just different sizes.

The font is different… Look at the GB1 tag, the letters are tall and skinny and on the GB2 uniforms they’re shorter and a little stockier (sounded better than fatter  ).

stantz sure wears his belt high in that picture.

The GB1 suits were a light grey, not tan. The closest suit to tan is the salmon pink ones in GB2. The darker GB2 suits are charcoal grey.

As for the tags, they were slightly different in size, and the GB2 font was more round, and signifigantly shorter (around half the size of GB1). The GB1 font was more block style lettering, with squared edges, instead of rounded.

Those are Joseph Kerezman’s nametags for both films, and are nearly, if not exactly, 100% accurate.

Chris

The two tags are indeed different.

It’s been speculated over at Proptopia that the ones in the first film might very well have been made simply by the costuming department (Missing bits on one of the 'S’s seem to give support to this theory, although when creating a font of such, I just went for the ‘S’ as seen on Ray’s nametag.

The tags in Ghostbusters II appear more professional… if you ask me I’d hazard a guess and say they were machined.

Ok, stupid question. Are the original uniforms made from actual flight suits? I was told by someone who’s seen the movie alot more than me, that he saw on the credits that they were Dickies brand coveralls. We checked out a not-so-local farm and fleet, to look. We didn’t find anything in the right color (And they were insulated) but they looked alot like the flight suits, the slanted zippers and all. Also, where the nametag on the uniform goes, is the Dickies logo, right on the left breast above the pocket, so it’s plausable, and that’s why they put the nametags there.

That seems odd to me. Why on earth would the credits say what they used for the uniforms? I’ve never heard of credits naming screen-used props before. Though it would answer a lot of questions if it did, I suppose.

yes the original uniforms were flight suits. they were made of material supplied by the movie studio.

Cole,

The suits were dyed, so you’re not going to find anything in the right colour. You have to buy the khaki, and over dye it grey.

Neither movie used ‘Dickies’ flightsuits. (Does Dickies even make flightsuits?). In the first movie, they used real Vietnam era flightsuits. My dad (who served in Vietnam) told me once what division they were from. He also confirmed that they were the style used. I’ll have to ask him again sometime about all of that. The second movie flightsuits were made using material the studio supplied, and were made by flightsuits.com , if memory serves.

Chris

No, but they do make coveralls that come in both tan and grey. They’re a pretty good alternative to the military flightsuits, but are typically much more expensive.

Like I said, I found something DAMN CLOSE, though were a brown rather than beige/tan. Had the angle’d prest pockets and everything, they weren’t flightsuits, they were coveralls, was just wanting to ask anybody about that. Anyone know of a good place to order a flight suit from for something that’s a large size suit? Please let me know. Someone who’s relatively quick with shipping, as we will be needing these suits SOON. Thanks guys.
