Well most of us might have seen the NECA release of the Ecto-1, Slimer, Stay Puft, Gozer, and The demon dogs, but Toywiz.com has said they are going to make Peter,Ray,Egon, and Winston figures. This was like 8 months ago. It still says they are coming soon. What do you think? Would you get them?
as far as i was aware these were originally hung up as bill murray wouldnt let them use his image!
would i get them, HELLS YEAH; will it happen, probably not
I would buy them, but… I thought someone had confirmation from Necca that those figures of the guys would not get released?
I personally have talked to Sean Nagle…he sculpted, slimer, Stay Puft, and the terror dogs…he said that he had dibs on sculpting Peter and Ray when the series 2 figures would come out but NECA informed him, then he told me, because i ask him bout it every time i c him, that Bill Murray will not give his likeness rights to the figure so they will not be making them, since Peter, the most popular will not be apart of them. they have pretty much put these figures on the way back burner because of Bill murray being an ■■■■■■■. so they probably wont be made…
I’m tired of Bill Murray being such a ■■■■■ about his image…then he voices two of the worst movies made recently…
yeah i know, its bullshit…Sean said that there was an idea of GB2 figures with Ray, Egon, Winston, and Louis all in GB gear…but Neca didnt want that they need Peter nuff said…then the comic book images of the characters were in favor but i havent talked to him in a while…ill be seein him soon Nov. 12 so ill ask him then
That’s what I was thinking. Use the comic book version, if Murray doesn’t want to thank his fans by giving his likeness for an action figure… I suppose they could even make a realistic figure based off of the cartoon Peter.
dono…i think since the company is primarily movie based, they wont settle for less, and they have so much other rights than Ghostbusters that they arent loosing sleep over it, its kind of over for the GB in figure form…until someone gets Murray to sign his likeness over. they were surpossed to make a big diarama scene on the top of the roof fighting Gozer…that is what it was all leading up to and it now wil never be completed
which really sucks…it would have been amaing
They could mke a similar face to Bill’s if they change it just enough bill cant sue.
Then they’d likely have to make them all unique… the problem is, it wouldn’t work to have a sculpt of Ramis, Aykroyd and Hudson and not Murray because then they wouldn’t match up.
Frankly though, I don’t see Bill’s problem… he’d be getting more money for a character he no longer plays… how is that such a big problem?
It’s things like this, and then the college party he attended that make him such an odd person to be able to work out… he acts like such an ass part of the time… but then seems to do something really cool out of the goodness of his own heart…
There aren’t two Bill Murrays, are there? He figured he could handle all the publicity stuff by cloning himself… but the process split him into ‘good’ and ‘evil’ twins, respectively…
Hrmm.
if this is a load of shyte i sure hope these guys know it … all though i sincirley hope they are making them , they’d look soo awesome on my mantel
http://www.toywiz.com/neghacfi.html
im sorry but that is false…they wont make them ive heard it from a reliable source.
I did just write Neca and asked what is goin on wiht the GB line…lets hope they write back
Griff
Maybe we could all write Bill Murray a letter…if he gets enough maybe he’ll get the point.
This totally sucks that they aren’t going to make these figures, it would kick an insurmountable amount of ass…
to the situation
and   to Bill Murray
That’s a good idea, but…
I’m afraid with Bill’s previous attitude towards the Ghostbusters franchize, writing to him would only further push him away from it… For what ever reason, it’s seems like Bill would like to forget he was ever a Ghostbuster. Too bad… ![]()
I had a theory that I dismissed before, but now reading all of these posts about him I let everyone be the judge.
Do you think in Ghostbusters II Murray’s seperation of the Ghostbusters began there? I mean they give him alot of creative control and he wore his flight suit less than everyone (in the museum scene he was the only one not dressed as a team player). [I know this part was in the script and not his idea] And when the group wanted to go underground to look for the slime he blew them off for a date.
I’m probably reading way to much into this. But it really ■■■■■■ me off that He did Garfeild 2 (esp since the first one sucked) and he wont give GB the time of day.
I noticed his seperation from the group in GB2 also. And another thing in the story to add to that, would be the fact he didn’t live with the guys at the fire house anymore…
If you guys ever get a hold of a copy of Rolling Stone Magazine from, I think, June 1st of 1989. There is a good article in there about GB2 (the guys are on the cover of the magazine) and Murray talks about why he doesn’t care for sequels. He feels they are just to make money and don’t have a lot of content. Murray also talks a little bit in there about why he is, I guess you’d call it reclusive…
Garfield 2: The Tale of Two Kitties! Arg! :x
Ya, that does show some hypocrisy in his philosophy.
Maybe that’s the stem for all it… Bill Murray is effectively ‘Marlon Brando lite’… he’s reclusive and a little odd… but not in the way where he’ll demand a huge fee for a small cameo.
At least, we hope he won’t.
