well they could find a guy who looks very much like murray and pay to use his. Then murray cant sue.
as i posted before…i asked Neca about the figure on their myspace comment page and i sweaar atleast 10 ppl backed me up askin where the figures are and y they arent makin more ghosts like Vigo and the Sclary brothers…we got the support and NECA is bound to c it, its their friggin Myspace page haha
I would definitely buy those!.. Vigo could come with two paintings, his and then the alternate one with the guys and Oscar. The Scoleri Bros. could come with there electric chairs. I think that would be pretty sweet.
They could also make a Ghost Janos figure that comes with a baby carrage and Oscar figure.
Look what i found! http://www.andgor.com/murray.html
i don’t think he gave his permission because it wasn’t mass produced. Damn him!
ps. i would go crazy for some Scoleri bros figures! D devil, Ask Sean when you see him.
i will…there is a lil convention in tampa on the 12th hes always there lookin at stuff…its really not in his hands…but ill ask if any new news for the figures has come about. I agree the scalarie bros would be kick ass if they lit up and everything made electrical noices…i think that whole scene was the best in GB2 actually.
That cast was specially made for Toyfair magazine, I think a few duplicates have been floating around eBay, but nothing in the mass marketed vein.

made this out of a second city figure. hope ya like. P.S. its also in misc props post.
I remember that!
That is friggin’ sweet! :o
Is there something that says that the reason the figures aren’t being made is because of Murray? I mean, there is a lot of Murray-bashing over his supposed attitude toward Ghostbusters, but I don’t see any specific citations for his reluctance. Seems to me that Murray would only profit from the sale of the product.
I had heard (with the same authority, I guess, as the Murray theory) that sales for the figures and other factors were instrumental in the company’s decision.
Probably the closest thing we will ever see to GB figures. These were sold on ebay some long time ago.

We need to fight this problem at it’s source. We won’t get anywhere if we keep pestering NECA to make figures that they have no likeness to. What we need to do is to find out how to contact Murray. Maybe, if enough of us e-mail and write to Bill, maybe it will show him that making this figure will be good for his image. If I was to persronallly write him a letter, this is what it would sound like:
*Dear Mr. Murray
My name is Bob and I am a huge fan. YOu are one of my favorite actors, and I hope to follow in your footsteps. However, I have been hearing latley that you are showing some resistance to the creation of figures based off of one of your most famous movies, Ghostbusters. As a fan, the coolest thing that I believe an actor can do is to show that they are fans of the work they do. Many people are showing some anger against the fact that you don’t want figures made. I am sure the reason you did this is personal and you probably will not want it to be heard by other people. Even though you have been creating great films recently like The Life Aquatic, and Lost in Translation, It is my belief that a celebrity shouldn’t forget their older work. I hope that you can see your way to letting your likeness be put on an action figure. It may be just one fan asking something that you can’t see your way to doing, but I think you should be remebered for the things you did for your fans. I hope this letter helps show you that your true fans would not want you to pass up something as phenomenal as this. *
Your Fan,
Bob _________
Don’t contact him…
He gets really angry at fans bothering him. It was tried by mail and in person around the major time for GB3 rumors. Do you see a GB3? Nope he refuses to sign over his rights…
Is it just me or is he kinda a douchebag? I have an idea. They should take the RGB peter and make him looks more realistic and use it. Murray doesn’t have dem rights!
Well then, why not get NECA to nake the comic figures? If ■■■■■■■■■ Murray doesn’t want to give up his rights, then lets bombard NECA with emails telling them that we want figures based on the Comic. I know that they are more of a movie figure company, but the comic was really close to the movie. The only real difference was their faces. Also, someone should make the point to say that the comic figures could work perfectly. I am willing to let go of my hopes of movie GB figures. This is what each figure should be: Each box would be a clamshell packaging Each buster would come with a pack, a trap, and a special individualised piece of equipment. Egon would have his PKE meter, Ray would have the Ecto Goggles, and Winston the silme blower (I think that would be best since it was really the only piece of equipment he used that all of the others didn’t. The back of the packaging would have the variant cover of that buster. BTW, when I was at Wizard World, I spoke with the NECA booth. The guy at the booth said that if enough people send e-mails to them, they have to seriously consider the request of the people.
if i recall reading a interview with aykroyd he said that murray didnt want to make it for the reason it might ruin thr franchise…im not surer how true this interview was but i have heard that many times before as well…plus if you sent him a message when he see the word ghostbusters that letter will head for the trash most likely
I’m full in on the idea of individual emails to NECA for comic style figures. Especially if we go with the 88mph comics - because the detail and style would be great, and not something they’d have to worry about having “already done before,” like the RGB figures. Perhaps we should set up some kind of voting process and see how many people on the board we can get to email them about this. I know I’d buy all four figures, as long as they’re $30 or cheaper per figure.
Well they could always do figures based on Ghostbusters Legion. Thos look very similar to the movies.
That was covered in the ‘88MPH’ likenesses a few posts back.
Not to crap on the parade, because decent Legion GB figures would be great, but after they went to so much trouble to make the Gozer the dogs and the Spud from the movie I’d much rather have movie based figures to complete the set.
Calling Bill a douche online isn’t going to help us either if by the off chance he does, for whatever reason, happen along to this site, so please lets keep it respectful. Good, bad he has his reasons for his decision.
Now if they were to produce a comic based line of GB’s it would be best to just start a whole new line and not make it series 2 for the movie one.
My 2 cents.
Lastly, I want better articulation! Super poseable GB’s if you please!!
So Neca has to have the rights signed over by the Actors.. I figured Sony owned the likenesses of the actors in the GB gear.. unless a specific contract was drawn up.. who knows..
