NECA Ghostbuster Figures?

Well yes and no. Sony does have the rights to the gear and uniforms, but the actors have the rights to their likeness to the figures. That’s why they get a check for sold merchandise with their face on it.

Yeh, it would be great to have movie style figures to go along with the previously released figures.. So maybe if we all hold out until Murray is dead, someone can speak for him and sign over his rights to his likeness..

Or, for now, we could still push for something. Don’t get me wrong, I still have a lot of my old RGB figures, and I love them. However, greater detail, slightly larger and more realistic versions of the figures, like something along the lines of the 88mph style, would be fantastic IMO.

I guess when it all boils down to it, I’ll take what I can get to keep a great thing alive. Blending comics with movies is fine with me, as long as I get results moving in the direction of newer, more detailed GB figs.

Here’s the thing, though. We don’t know why he refused. Was it because they weren’t offering him what he felt was a fair deal? Did he flat out refuse? He may have wanted something more than the company would give him.

Do you think in Ghostbusters II Murray’s seperation of the Ghostbusters began there? quote]

Personally, even though I thought GB2 was the better of the two movies, prolly cuz i saw it first, I thought Murray’s performance in that one wasn’t wuite up to par with the rest of hiw work, like he was being lazy and not trying or something. I dunno, maybe I’m just being too critical…

yeah i blame GB2 and during the filming of Groundhogs day murray and Ramis got into a huge fight

Well he has his reasons. We may hate it, but he does. I feel GB1 was better. But, maybe someone should message NECA about the 88MPH Likeness idea.

How can this many people want GB figures and NECA still do nothing? We should try my idea from another board. Let’s e-mail NECA, pushing for any GB figures, either 88mph, another creature series (GB2 figures) or we could convince them to really push for the actor liknesses.

Just out of morbid curiousity, do you know what it was about? I never heard that story.

I don’t know how I missed the picture earlier. Those are badass! :o

Too bad NECA can’t do something just like that!

the story i know is when Murray became bitter, was when he and Ramis were filming Groundhogs day, and in that movie there is a lot of cold involved since it was filmed in the winter in philly…there is a scene where Murray is in the shower and he turns it on and cold water spurts out Murray reacts…thats not acting in the scene thats real cold water and thats a real reaction murray puts on the first time. Ramis thought it was funny and wanted to do a couple more takes and Murray pretty much said no way in hell…they got into it MUrray stormed off, and ramis had a stunt double fill in for the other shots in the shower…

also I have personally written NECA bout the comic book version..no reply as of now, but i doubt that would float their boat since they are movie related and thats about it

yeah thats exactly what i heard…but come on…would you wanna take a shower when its really cold like that …he was probably half frozen…not to piss anyone off with this part but why is it that recently people have been saying stuff like waiting till murray dies for a new movie …i hate hearing stuff like that…even if its may be true its still very harsh in my opinion

Ya but… The thing is how many millions of dollars was he getting for that movie. Come on, a few cold showers wouldn’t kill him.

I don’t think anyone wants Murray to die, I sure don’t, but I think that is viewed as what it will take to get any cooperation from him on any further Ghostbusters/Peter Venkman licenses.

Speaking of cool characters to make into action figures or models… How about a realistic looking, sinister Sam Hain model/figure based off RGB? I would love to have one of those!

I’m also sure the bathroom and B&B interiors in Groundhog Day were a set… so the cold shower thing’s open to doubt.

Even if it was a set, that doesn’t make the story any less likely, since the set would have still needed running water (which could easily be made to be cold).

yeah thats true i guess…yeah a samhain fig would be great…the extreme gb one ■■■■■■ me off!..the head hardley ever stayed on

It would probably make it more likely. I doubt they would have a water heater hooked up to the set… It was probably a garden hose.

I had that one too. I don’t know where it’s at anymore. I found the callor to his cape not long ago, but now I don’t even know where that is… Was Sam Hain actually in an EGB episode? If so, do you know which one?

He was never in EGB, but he (and the flasher from ‘Slimer come home’) had cameo apperances in the opening credits, with a sinister EGB twist of course.

Thanks!

That’s too bad they didn’t have an episode for him.

Yeah, it would’ve been sweet! but seriously, they should get some other toy company to make some new RGB figures, i mean, i’d buy them. Hasbro are going all out on transformers, so why not take a chance with ghostbusters. They’ve got money to burn, right?

They also have a spankin new movie to fuel the Marketing machine.

Cam

yeah and honestly i don’t think many ppl are as interested in the cartoon as they are the live movie. the movie has the magic, the true sense of franchise..personally i thought RGB was a slap in the face and they ruined GB2 with all the cartoon tie ins like slime coming back and Jeanine’s radical look…thats my two cents on that.
