I’m in the air force and am very busy and don’t have time to build proton packs. I’d like to buy 4 of them PLEASE!!! My best friend has always been a ghostbuster fanatic, and he wants a few friends and i to be ghost busters with him. Doesn’t have to be the most authentic, but the ,more the better. I can understand the want and desire to be a ghostbuster for halloween, but the time/effort that goes into these packs. I know I couldn’t just give one up or even sell one. plus, this really belongs in the for sale section. My advice would be that you use what materials you have available to you and build them yourselves. Trust me when I say the experience of building themyourself is worth more then just straping one on. use the forums, building a pack is really like a right of passage
What’s you’re budget like and what level of accuracy are you expecting?

Frinky you’re right. I’ve stumbled across other forums where people want to buy just one pack. Can’t someone hook him up with four packs for around $2000 without the electronics? I suggest you hit up thrift stores, garage sales, flea markets and junkyards for crazy looking parts and just make a cheap pack. I’ve seen some on here that look cool and are made from random stuff. That’s what I was going for at first then I stumbled onto this site. I never knew this was such a big hobby. Goodluck!
The worst part about this, is that with halloween coming up on us, this wont be the last of the posts where people are asking someone to build them a pack. I said it in my first post and I’ll say it again. " Building a pack is like a right of passage". and I’m not talking about those of us who scratch built them either. You can always look in the for sale section for various parts and just assemble the pack yourself. The satisfaction of looking at something that YOU put together and better yet, the satisfaction of starping on a pack that YOU assembled outweighs the geekiness of just strapping on a pack because your a Ghostbuster Fan.

exactly, because it shows that you have the kind of patience and determination to actually start and FINISH something you set out to do. Not only that, but you did something that requires a lot of creativity and patience to get to the end of. The self-satisfaction afterwards is more than fulfilling.
I agree 200%. It is a rite of passage… and a true test of endurance for some but there are some folks out there who have the cash to buy their stuff outright, and that’s perfectly fine. I just like to ask what their budget is so that everyone can see how serious they are.
If the person responds and says they have $200 to spend for all 4 packs AND they’re expecting full lights and sounds (like they normally do!) then we all have a good laugh and go on with our busy propping lives. But, if they respond with a budget of $8,000 then someone here may want to step up the challenge.

Buy 4 GB Costums they will come with inflatable Proton Packs. Just fine for halloween. 
Y’know, that’s not a half bad idea. Most newbies who want a proton pack yesterday for $20 end up getting a lecture about how much stuff costs, etc. Maybe now we can just say “Get it from Rubies!”
